Update on The Hubs Health

Just wanted to update you all on the love of my life's health. He was moved out of ICU last night, and should be going home this evening!! YEAH!!!! I am REALLY excited about that, I miss him soooo much at home ~~ it is so lonely without him. Nano misses him a lot, too, when I come home from the hospital in the afternoon and at night, Nano jumps all over me, then looks for Bill. He is still in quite a bit of pain, which the doctor says will subside over the next week or two; and has been eating a little more today... pudding, Jello, juice, soup -Whoopee! The doctor said he can eat pretty much what he wants over the next week, just not too much of it, then he has to get pretty "religious" (doctor's word) about his diet after he heals from the surgery, not too many carbs, no fat, no cholesterol, no red meat (that one is gonna hurt him - he LOVES steak) none of the food he likes ~~ poor guy! Plus he has to lay off all Tylenol and products containing Tylenol and any other meds that are filtered through the liver - he has to limit all alcohol products, but that's not really a problem as he doesn't drink that much, just an ocasional beer or drink, maybe a glass of wine, doc said no more than one a day ~~ Bill NEVER drinks that much!

We got the result from the biopsy of his liver, thank God... NO CANCER!! Boy, did my heart skip a beat with that result - I was so relieved and I didn't even realize I was holding my breath, until I let go of a deep breath. It is something called non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). Basically it is a fatty build up in the liver that can cause some necrosis and cirrhosis (which he does have a little) of the liver. Fortunately Bill's is not too bad, and we caught it early enough, so we don't have to worry about a liver transplant (again, thank God) ... although, he could have had part of mine if he needed it -- I would give him anything after all he has done for me!!

I just want to thank all of you who offered your prayers and good wishes over the last week, it was a very long and tiring week for me (and it's not over yet). I got very little sleep, so I spent some time on the computer reading your posts and even if I didn't get back to you (I am really sorry, I did try - my mind was VERY occupied), I TRULY appreciated every single comment and thought. You all really helped me get through this week. Living here in Florida away from family has some drawbacks, so it is wonderful to have my invisible friends to lean on for support. So, again, thank you so much, it really meant a lot to me, and I have to stop typing now because I cannot see through my tears.

Until next time..... Lorie

That is such good news Lorie. I had no idea and I am so sorry for being such a bad invisible friend. You are always so good to me. I don't honestly know how you can keep up the comments with your hub in ICU. You are an amazing person!

Congratulations on such terrific health news for your hubby. What a tremendous relief. And congratulations on winning the fortune cookies on my blog! You are indeed "fortune-ate!" Since he may not be able to eat them, looks like you are justified in keeping them all to yourself. ;-)

I will be praying for Bill! My stepfather is currently in the hospital and there's just something about that experience that's so scary. All we can do is trust in God.

And thank you for the comments about my book and its cover!
