Myth: Lip Lines are Caused by Smoking

.

While it’s absolutely true that smoking causes lip lines around the mouth over time, they aren’t the only culprit. And you can’t assume a person has been or is a smoker just because his or her lips are fringed with fine lines.

Sucking from a straw or running a kissing booth will lead to accelerated lip lines just like smoking. This is caused by the continual mechanical motion of pursing the lips. So whether or not you smoke, minimizing the motions of the muscles around the mouth is the best way to avoid those lines. Because as we like to say … the best wrinkle is the one you never get.

Let me show you how you can reclaim or maintain the lips of your youth with new ANTI-AGE Lip Renewing Serum.  Each peptide and antioxidant-rich mono-dose capsule helps lips retain natural moisturizing factors, smooths lip texture and reduces the appearance of lip wrinkles.

Check out my website or give me a call (407) 433-2806 so I can help you have soft, supple lips.

I am also looking for a couple of self-motivated individuals who love people, love helping others succeed, and have about 15 hours a week to create a substantial side income. Do you know anyone like that? Contact me or have them contact me (407) 433-2806 and check out the business side of my site to see how I can not only change you skin, but change your life.

ArtsFest 2012: Winter Park Historical Museum ~ The Way We Were: Park Avenue in the '60s and '70s

.

Continuing the 2012 central Florida ArtsFest celebration, Bill and I attending "The Way We Were: Park Avenue in the '60s and '70s" at the Winter Park Historical Museum on February 8th. Although the museum was small - one room to be exact - they packed quite a few things into this exhibit about what Winter Park was like in the '60s and '70s.

Even if you didn't live in central Florida during that time, there were enough items in the exhibit to bring back memories to anyone who lived through that time period to evoke tons of emotions: happiness, love, and even sadness.

Here are some photos to bring you back..... (click on any photo to enlarge)

There were many other items on display, but these were some of my favorites - and you knew I wouldn't leave out Elvis! The Museum is open Tuesday - Friday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. They are closed Sunday and Monday.  We really had an enjoyable time and the docent there was extremely sweet. The only complaint that I had is that it is not wheelchair accessable.

{Disclosure: I was given no compensation for this post or the links within. Bill and I just had a wonderful time at the event and I wanted to share my opinion with all of you and let you know how you could find some events you might enjoy.}

@HooverClean Elite Rewind Vacuum Review

.
.

As many of you know, my faithful Hoover vacuum that I had for 17 years died about 3 weeks ago. It was a terrible day in our lives as that vacuum was a part of my new life after divorce from my first husband - my life as an independent woman. Not to mention that it work fabulously up to that day.

Well, the wonderful folks at Hoover saw how distraught I was and sent me this fabulous Elite Rewind vacuum to replace my broken one.

The vacuum comes in three pieces that is so simple to put together that I could have used my Swiss Army knife, but didn't - Bill put it together with a regular old Phillips head screw driver, the 3 screws are already attached.

Here are some of the features of the Elite Rewind Vacuum:

~ Full power three carpet height settings plus bare floor setting all while having light weight (only 17 lbs.)

~ Rinsable filter, so you save money by not having to buy replacement HEPA filters.

 ~ 25' Rewindable power cord with the step on a button

~ Clip on the back of the handle to hold the wire out of the way while you are vacuuming

Not to mention all the On-Board Tools:

  • Air-Powered Hand Tool - puts hard-to-reach cleaning in the palm of your hand
  • 12" Extension Wand - extends reach of the hose
  • Crevice Tool - helps clean nooks and crannies

..... and:

~ Simple unlock and dump bagless, easy-to-see-when-full canister

It's actually my hubby, Bill, who uses the vacuum every day (I know ladies, I am the luckiest wife in the world and he is rewarded well) so I asked him what he liked about this vacuum.

He loves the way it sucks up all the hair in the carpet - and with five doggies and my long, curly hair, you know there is tons of hair on our floor. It also picks up all the little bits of dog food that the babies leave on the kitchen tile, even between the grout. He really finds the retractable cord very convenient, not that he minded winding up the other one, just a nice new feature.

The clip to hold the wire while he is vacuuming is really a nice feature so that he doesn't run over the wire because he is always trying not to run over doggies who are trying to "get" the vacuum while he is using it - it's a game to them.  Since we live in a two story house, he really likes the lighter weight of the Elite Rewind compared to our older vacuum.

The thing that Bill likes the most is the bagless feature... he loves that he can see when the canister is getting full and how easy it is to empty. Not to mention the fact that we don't have the added expense of buying replacement bags.

I really like the fact that it is much quieter than the older one and many other vacuums that we have tried... and that it is PURPLE - isn't it pretty???

So, up to this point, we have no complaints with the Hoover Elite Rewind and are so happy to have had the chance to do this review.  The only thing we are hoping for is that it lasts 17 years like our last one. We are convinced that Hoover is an excellent company and will be our vacuum company for the foreseeable future.

Thank you very much, Hoover for the opportunity to use this vacuum and tell others about what a fabulous company you are, not only with the products you make, but in your customer service. You have a customer for life in the Shewbridges.

{Disclosure: We received no compensation other than the product to facilitate this review. All opinions are mine and 100% honest. See full disclosure at the bottom of the blog.}

Happy 5th Birthday to My Crazy Doggie Mumbo!

.

Today my darling doggie Mumbo turns FIVE years old. He is the son of our late doggie Mai-Li. I swear that Mumbo is a little bit bi-polar, he can be super sweet at one time and then get crabby at any moment for no reason that we can tell. However, since his mama died, he has been very cuddly with me and loves to wake me up every morning by licking my whole face. Which wouldn't be so bad if he didn't have breath that smelled like ASS! Blech!!

He and Mandie have become great friends and walk together when we all go out for our walks, plus when Wiggles, who thinks all 4 pounds of her is the boss of the house, tries to antoagonize Mandie, Mumbo will put his big (relatively) body between Mandie and Wiggles so he can protect his buddy Mandie.

He is really a sweetie pie, even when he is in one of his moods, all I have to do is to pick him up, hug him, and talk sweetly to him. Then he seems to calm down.

After I go out, when I come home, Mumbo is the first one to come up to me and jumps all over me, giving me kisses like he hasn't seen me in months... even if I've been gone for only a 1/2 hour.

Here are some photos of my beautiful little man.
Don't you agree he is one of the cutest doggies in the world?

Happy 5th birthday my little man...
Mommy loves you SO much!!

21 Years Ago, Another Miracle & Blessing in my Life - The Birth of Alexander Alfred

.

My dearest little boy Alexander was born 21 years ago today at 2:07 in the morning. When he came into this world, he was blue, and it scaring the heck out of me. But my doctor said, in the sweet voice that always put me at ease, "Don't worry mommy, it's just because he is so big and he's cold." That's when I found out that my chubby little man was 9 pounds, 10 ounces and it was in the middle of a snow storm, no wonder he was cold. =)

Once they got him under the warming lights and cleaned up and wrapped up, he pinked right up. Actually he was quite red faced with red hair - such a butterball. He loved to snuggle and be sung to and didn't even care that mommy couldn't carry a tune to save her life.

He has these beautiful blue eyes and this hair that always stuck up because of a cowlick, so I would use gel to make him look adorable.

As he grew, he was still a cuddler and a truly loving boy. He became extremely artistic in both the arts and music getting high marks and praise from his teachers every year.

He still loves them both an plays in a rock band. He also has always had a love for animals and grew up with a Beagle named GusGus (short for Octavius from Cinderella) and now has an adorable cat named Wompa. He and his brother, Nikolaus, have always been close and still talk to each other often.

Alex is always ready for fun and loves to hang out with his Mom & Pop doing silly things, especially going to Disney World. He and Pop love riding roller coasters together, but he will still do the "boring" things with mom like shopping and riding the carousel and trying on funny hats.

So on your 21st birthday, my little man, I want to let you know how much Pop and I love you and how very proud we are of the man you have become. You are such a special man and anyone who knows you is very lucky to have you in their life.

But, to me, you will always be my little boy.....

Happy Birthday, my darling little boy!!
