Mommy and Me Monday ~ Resting with Lady Mia

.

Mommy and Me Monday at Really, Are You Serious?
Hosted by Krystyn at Really, Are You Serious?

Welcome to another edition of Mommy and Me Monday.....

Each of the babies has been taking turns snuggling with me during my naps each day since I got out of the hospital. This day it was Lady Mia's turn. She is Nano's mama and the second doggie we adopted. She is really attached to Bill, but makes sure I am OK every day. Gotta love my puppies.....

If you'd like to participate in Mommy and Me Monday, here is all you need to do Per Krystyn's blog:

"Pop out from behind that camera and capture yourself in action with your kids. Grab the button and link up. Make some new friends and visit some old ones, too. There really is only one requirement here, a picture of you and your baby or babies; your children, your “baby” (i.e. significant other) or even your fur babies."

So head on over, link up, visit the other participants, and don't forget to LEAVE A COMMENT, you love them so you know that other people will too!

Happy Monday, y'all.... :)

Self-Portrait Sunday ~~ On Monday

.

Maria's Space

My friend Maria over at Maria's Space started this meme to get us out from BEHIND the camera and showcase our own lovely faces on our blogs.... We don't want to have a blog full of our family, friends and children and when we go back years later and wonder.... where the heck were we and what did we look like?  Well, I used to participate every Sunday, but life happens and I got distracted - I'm so sorry Maria - then Maria got sick and I got sick, yada, yada, yada.....

Anyway, here we go... I'm going to try and remember to participate every week again to help Maria keep her meme going, plus to make sure I've got photos of myself on my blog. This week it doesn't really look very good because the only photo I have is the one from the hospital... HaHa. Oh, well, I said I'd participate, so here goes... my self-portrait for Feb. 27th, 2011 (a day late):

Don't I look so purdy???  Now how about you participate... join Maria by posting your own beautiful face and linking up with Maria over at Maria's Space and visiting the other participants and leaving them a nice comment.  You HAVE to look better than I do... TeeHee

WELCOME TO MONDAY'S MUSIC MOVES ME AND SINCE TO IS THE LAST MONDAY IN FEBRUARY TODAY IS "FIND A NEW NEIGHBOR DAY" ~ THEN LEAVE A LOVING COMMENT!!

***Whoever finds the most new neighbors (receives the most comments from new visitors) will have our number one spot next week in the linky ~ Yes,  No. 1- Just let Our Mistress of Hugs and Head Cupid, XmasDolly know how many new visitors you receive this week and you'll be Numero Uno!!  Our Spotlight Dancers will be No.'s 2 & 3***      YooHoo!!!!

So as your Queen of Hugs (that would be ME), here are my songs for this week....  This first one is such a wonderful song (sung by one of the ugliest men in the world) and I have been lucky enough to see him in concert with my darling hubby who sang it in my ear at the same time. I get goose bumps just thinking about it.

You Are So Beautiful by Joe Cocker

Here is another beautiful song by an artist that my fabulous husband has taken me to see twice, and it's just so romantic to be swaying in each others arms, looking into each other eyes and singng (or the facimile of singing) with thousands of others doing the exact same thing. Such an amazing experience, here's.....

Have I Told You Lately by Rod Stewart

This last song also has special meaning for me and Bill... unfortunately, I have never had the chance to see him in concert - but BOY would I LOVE too, and so would Bill. But, this is the first song that we ever danced to together... it was in the living room and we had the stereo on, it was no big deal and at no fancy function, it was just spur of the moment and we were looking into each others eyes and singing to each other. I remember it like it was yesterday... it was 15 years ago.  Even now, when this song comes on the radio and we are  the same room, we will still "dance" - such as it is - together, look into each others eyes, and sing to each other.... I love him more today than I did those 15 years ago, and I am SO lucky to have found him and that he stuck with me through all the thick and thin. Here is.....

Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton

Friday Photo Flashback (Just a Bit Late)

.

Friday Photo Flashback

Alicia from More Than Words says she started Friday Photo Flashback because "I have so many pictures from my PRE-digital camera days. I thought it would be fun to scan them and share them here with you.. I'm having so much fun doing this, that I would love for you to join me, too! So dig out the photo albums and put your scanner to good use! Don't forget to link up so we can all visit and comment on each others blogs!"

My friend Dolly has been playing every week for months and I have loved seeing all her old photos and so this week I have decided to start playing along. I posted some old photos of my boys earlier in the week because of their birthdays and that also got me thinking about posting flashback photos.
These are photos of my baby Nano from 2008 when he was just a baby. Isn't he so cute? Look how little he was - just about the size of the water bottle. That is how he got his name, when he was born, he fit into the palm of my hand and we didn't think he would get much bigger... so he got the name Nano Bytes Shewbridge... Now he is about 10 pounds, and sometimes we call him Mega Bytes.....

If you'd like to play along, dig out the old photo albums, scan in some photos and write a post to tell us all about what's going on in the photos. Then link up with Alicia at More Than Words, visit the other participants and leave a nice comment. See you next week, hope  remember... :)

.

Welcome to Monday's Music Moves Me... the rockin' meme hosted by me, Marie of XmasDolly, Larry of Cakeblast and Collette of Jamerican Spice that showcases YOUR music choices! We want to know what kind of music gets you movin and groovin!

This is the last week of February our "Love Month"  :( - so I decided to post three songs this week.  The first song Bill says he always thinks of me when he hears it... "bright eyes."

Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tyler

I also love Bryan Adams and have been to see him two or three times in concert with my dearest hubby and LOVE when he sings this next song. I also love the movie it is from because it stars my favorite young actors... the adorable Johnny Depp, mmmmm.  Unfortunately, I can't find a copy of the video to embed here so you'll have to go over to Youtube to watch....

Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman? by  Bryan Adams {click to go to Youtube}

My next song is by another singer that I have been lucky enough to have seen in concert, and let me tell you... what a show he puts on. I have NO idea where he gets the energy, but he is AWESOME!!  Here is....

Happy 20th Birthday to my Baby, Alexander & Belated 23rd to Nikolaus

.

Today I want to wish my baby boy Alexander a very happy 20th birthday... I just can't believe it has been that long since I held my "little" 9 lb. 10 oz. baby boy in my arms... Yep, I gained 50 pounds during my pregnancy and he was a big baby... I'm still trying to lose those last 30 lbs of baby weight.  :-)

Boy do they grow up so fast:

One of my favorite photos of Alex

And then all of a sudden they are all grown up and singing in a rock band.....

Pretty hot stuff, huh? He is really artistic musically and with paper, pen, pencil and paint.
The tattoo he has is one he drew himself. He is AWESOME!

Happy birthday, my little man, I am so proud of who you have become and how wonderful you are to others... you know that "As long as I'm living, my baby you'll be!"  I love you with all my heart, TTM&B.

These two books I used to read to the boys when they were little - I still tell them that all the time, that no matter how old they get, they will always be my babies and that I love them to the moon and back (TTM&B). They are both truly lovely books
and that need to be in every child's library.

I also have to wish my oldest son Nikolaus a belated happy 23rd birthday... his birthday was on the 9th of February, but I was in the hospital then and recovering right after and just didn't have the strength to get a post done for him properly. So, I know that the boys don't mind sharing their birthdays (too, much) as they would often share parties when they were younger (the joys of shared parenting in divorced families) because they had a lot of the same friends.

So anyway... Here are a few photos of my little man then and now.....

We have always loved Disney!!

{L-Alex; R-Nik}

{L-Alex; R-Nik}

And here is the proud soldier he has become..... Look how strong and handsome he is:

Here is me and my wonderful young man... boy do I feel SO old. When did I become the mother to MEN??
I just have little boys... They are both such generous, loving and helpful men who have a very deep respect for women and a love for family and country. I am so proud of them and love them both dearly.

Happy birthday, my boys.... Love you forever with my whole heart.... TTM&B!! xoxox

Silly Joke of the Day - Go Ahead and Groan!!

.

A doctor made it his regular habit to stop off at a bar for a hazelnut daiquiri on his way home. The bartender knew of his habit, and would always have the drink waiting at precisely 5:03 p.m.

One afternoon, as the end of the work day approached, the bartender was dismayed to find that he was out of hazelnut extract. Thinking quickly, he threw together a daiquiri made with hickory nuts and set it on the bar.

The doctor came in at his regular time, took one sip of the drink and exclaimed, "This isn't a hazelnut daiquiri!"

"No, I'm sorry," replied the bartender......... "It's a hickory daiquiri, Doc."

Disney Social Media Moms Blog Hop

.

Cindy over at Mom Maven had this absolutely fabulous idea for those of us attending the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration March 17th - 20th. She has set up a linky so all of us can write up a post about who we are, who is going with us, whether it will be our first time at the event, etc. This way, we will all ready "know" some people when we get there and have begun our social media networking.

My husband and I live in Celebration, Florida which is just 5 minutes outside the Disney World main gate and we go there quite often using our annual passes. We also were VERY privileged to be invited last year to the Disney Conference last year and had an outstanding, unforgettable time. Which is why we were so thrilled to be able to attend this year as well.  This year, however, we WILL be staying on property because I have always wanted to stay at the Grand Floridian - one of the MOST majestic hotels anywhere, let alone Disney World. We are hoping that our two sons who live in Connecticut will be able to come down to spend the vacation with us - if they can both get the time off from work (they are age 20 & 23) ; they love Disney World and I know they will adore the special features of the convention.

If you'd like to see the recaps from last year's conference, just check out my posts here and here

We are so looking forward to meeting all of the wonderful bloggers and their families and cannot wait to learn as much, if not more from the fabulous speakers (like Chris Brogan, who Cindy just informed me is going to be there again - WooHoo!!!).  It is getting closer every minute.... and I'm getting more and more excited!

Write up your post and link up with Cindy over at Mom Maven so I can get to know you.  HUGGLES!!
