I recently got a new pair of sunglasses to keep the sun out of my eyes and help prevent migraines. Bill laughed at me and said they were too big. I think they look great, what do y'all think?

We took four of the dogs out for brunch this morning to celebrate Mai-Li's birthday and when we got home Mumbo was so excited to see us that he was jumping all over me, so I got down on the floor to play with him. (No easy fete I might add.) Then I decided to take a couple of photos while I was down there.....

This photo is from one of our trips to EPCOT at Walt Disney World when we were there to see one of the old time rockers (I'll do a full post later) at their Flower Power Concert series. (Yes, I know that I forgot to wear sunscreen on my chest - oops, shame on this Florida girl!)  We are actually going tonight to see Herman's Hermits - I love 60's music and have been singing "Henry the Eighth" for FOUR days.

Bill and I went on a date night last Monday to The Abbey in Orlando to see my good friend Maryellen Hooper, a fantabulistic comedienne. We had a wonderful time there and even ran into our friends Jason and Lucy Deaton which made the evening even better.

This photo is me on Easter Sunday... Bill and I went out to dinner at our favorite Irish Pub Shannon's of Celebration then we came home and vegged out on the couch and watched a movie. I love spending time with him and my fur-babies.

I love how Maria is always posting photos of herself in silly poses or making funny faces..... SOOOO today I decided to to post a photo of myself that is utterly ridiculous. This is a picture of what my grandson calls, "Grammy Lorie's Funny Face," whenever I make this face, he cracks up hysterically.  To me, there is no greater sound in the whole world than that of a child's laughter, so I'd make this face for him anytime I see him - which is never enough... They live in Texas.

This week I am posting a photo from the day I went to the Pulmonary Specialist - I actually put mascara on - WooHoo. I am feeling a little better, breathing a little easier when I sit still doing nothing, but still have some trouble with exertion. The prednisone he gave me has caused a few crummy side effects, but hopefully they wont last too long. Hope you are having a good week.

Self Portrait Sunday - Bath Time for Nano

I know these are supposed to be photos of myself and the second one has me in it, but I wanted to set up that photo by first showing you what poor little Nano looks like after his bath - Bill calls him a drowned rat. He really doesn't mind taking a bath because he loves being scrubbed and scratched and it is sometimes easier to just put him in the tub with me. After he is all clean and his hair conditioned, he loves to be wrapped in a big fluffy towel and snuggle with me.

Self Portrait Sunday - I Feel Like Crap 2/14/10

Today I almost skipped posting because I feel so crappy (keeping it clean, folks). I got sick during the Disney Social Media Moms Conference (but BOY was it worth it - posts to come soon, I promise!). But I figured I'd be honest with you all and post what I look like anyway. So, the first photo is me feeling lousy, with yesterday's make-up on and no photo retouching. It is what it is!! The second photo, I at least tried to smile some and did just a touch of facial and color retouch to make me look less dead.

Hope you all have a great Valentine's Day. My wonderful hubby is taking me to dinner at a terrific French restaurant (Jean Pierre's Bistro) here in town (we've had the reservations for 2 weeks) that I really am looking forward to - they have the best pastries!

Today is a special edition of Self Portrait Sunday... because it is Super Bowl Sunday! Here we are with the TV all set ready to watch the big game {and of course the commercials} all cuddled up because it's cold here in Florida, at least we think it's cold - so nobody whine about how where you are is SO much colder than we are, I've heard it all before. :-)

Then I went over to my chair because I needed to do some blogging while watching the game - I have my priorities straight, it's not like the NY Giants were playing!!

I will NOT, however, be on the computer at halftime during The Who.

Self Portrait Sunday - I'm Healing Pretty Well

With today's self portrait post, I wanted to show everyone how well my incision from my cervical spinal surgery {my procedure: Anterior Cervical Corpectomy} is healing. It is still sore and itchy and kind of red. I'm still having pain in my neck, shoulders and down my arms into my hands, but not nearly as much as I used to have. The constant headache I had for 8 years (YES, eight years) is gone, although from reading my blog, you know that I still suffer from migraines and occasional neurological headaches. I will have those problems for the rest of my life. If you look at the second photograph, you really can't see the incision when you look at me from a short distance unless you really look for it, I am SO happy with the way my neurosurgeon did the procedure. I really shouldn't have that much of a scar at all after about a year.

See these gorgeous earrings.... these were a gift from my WONDERFUL friend Maria, she made them - she is a true artisan. They were a gift from her because I was the top commenter on her wonderful blog Maria's Space, the originator of this meme. I was so surprised when she wanted to give me these for visiting her blog. I just can't help myself, she is a wonderful writer and a fabulous photographer. Please head over to her blog to take a look.
