"We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love." Dr. Seuss
Toni of A Daily Dose of Toni arranged for several of us to sing all these parts and worked her little tukus off to put it all together. (Thank you SO much, Toni!) We first present to you the traditional Twelve Days of Christmas.....
And now for our next performance:
Next, Toni arranged us all, with the help of Trisha and Lynsey, to sing The Twelve Days of Blogging. We all had SO much fun with this and I'm sure you will enjoy listening to it... make sure you listen to the end (it is a little long) because it gets funnier as it goes along.....
Don't forget to visit all the bloggers who participated in this amazing video:
Since Walt Disney World is basically our backyard, Bill and I LOVE when the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival arrives each fall. We go almost once or twice a week to eat and see the Eat to the Beat Concerts that feature some of the rock and roll bands that we both love so much.
Last Saturday, we made our first 15 minute trek from our door to EPCOT's entrance to eat our way around the world. We managed to get about 1/4 away around EPCOT's World Showcase.
We started off in Hawaii with with Kahlua Pork Sliders with Sweet and Sour Dole Pineapple Chutney and Spicy Mayonnaise and a Kona Brewing Company Big Wave Golden Ale... man was that delicious, just the right amount of sweet and spice. Next was Greece where we each had a Chicken Souvlaki with Tzatsiki (and finished our Kona beer)... another great marriage of spice and sweet. Then as we headed over toward the American Garden's Theater for the concert, we stopped at Italy for Ravioli di Formaggio all'Emiliana (Beef Bolognese Sauce, Parmesan, and Mozzarella) with water and iced tea. Plus I had a Chocolate Covered Cannoli - YUMMY!!
The thing that totally made me laugh was that with all the food from countries all over the world, this line happened:
This is a McDonalds... these people chose to eat McDonalds food instead of the delicious food from all the booths from countries all over the world. I just don't get some people. =\
Then onto the show..... We saw Starship staring Mickey Thomas. They were awesome, as they have been the last 9 times we have seen them. It was sad not seeing Mark Abrahamianafter watching him play such awesome lead guitar for all those years (I have photos of him on my FB page), but Jeff Tamelier did a great job and is a fabulous showman. So here are my photos of Lead Vocalist, Mickey Thomas; Additional vocals, Stephanie Calvert (you should hear her do White Rabbit - I get chills); Guitar, Jeff Tamelier; Bass, Back-up vocals, Jeff Adams; Drums, Darrell Verdusco; Keyboards, Back-up vocals, Phil Bennett:
We had such a great time and cannot wait to go back for more food - some I am looking forward to are Germany, Poland, and a new one this year, a Florida Local Booth. Of course there is an Ireland booth that has a Warm Chocolate Lava Cake with Bailey's Ganache... I'll be getting that more than once!
Stay tuned for the continuing saga as Bill and I eat our way around the world. =)
A friend of mine sent me this video and I just had to pass it along. This woman is 101 years old and drives an 81 year old classic car - on which she can change the oil and the spark plugs..... neither of which I can do, by the way.
She is totally adorable and so proud of her car. Check out at the end how she uses the little red towel to step on the running board without getting it dirty, then brings it with her to use at her destination. Enjoy.....
I love this woman and hope I am half as spry as she is when I am her age... Gives new meaning to the Little Old Lady from Pasadena.....

Today Elvis Presley would have been 77 years old - did any of you think I'd let this day pass without mentioning it??? I bet if he was still around, he would be rockin' and shaking his hips and making ladies (myself included) swoon. A beautiful life taken much too soon. Here is something from me to him....
The home of Derek and Courtney Whitis in SouthWood, which has been drawing spectators to its colorful and musical light display for weeks, has won the Good Morning America Big Bright Holiday Lights showdown contest. The visual display is accompanied by a four-minute soundtrack that plays a portion of the song for each branch of the military.
While the display will likely send the Whitis family’s electric bill sky high, Courtney Whitis says that the cost of the display is “nothing in comparison to what the troops do every day for our freedom.” She goes on to say, “We did this just to pay tribute to those who have served, are serving and will serve in the military protecting our freedom.”
Here is the winning home, I love it:
It is SO moving and a wonderful tribute to our troops. The Whitises seek to raise awareness and money for the Semper Fi Fund, which provides assistance for wounded soldiers in their recovery process. Those who would like to donate can visit semperfifund.org.
Let us continue to pray and support our troops and their families not only this time of the year, but all year long as they fight and sacrifice for our freedoms.
