Donation to the Salvation Army Will Reward Many

I heard this from a friend of mine earlier today, it sounds like a great idea for all of us. It helps us get rid of the clutter in our homes and can help lots of other people who need a helping hand. Please see what she wrote to our reading group"

"Clearing out clutter in your home this week? Drop some of it off at a participating Salvation Army Thrift Store by May 31, 2010, and you'll get a free $10 gift card.

From The Salvation Army blog:
For in-kind donations you contribute between April 1 and May 31 to select Salvation Army Family Thrift Stores, you will be thanked with a $10 gift certificate to any Phillips-Van Heusen, IZOD, or Bass retail stores. Participating Salvation Army stores will provide you with a dated receipt for your generous donations and a coupon to redeem for your next shopping trip."

So, if you have find anything during your spring cleaning that you can donate, now is the time. I know I have the MOST generous and loving readers, so I will thank you in advance for all you can do to help out those less fortunate. Have a great weekend everyone!

Until next time..... Lorie

Thanks for the info.! We always drop off at least 2 huge garbage bags of stuff every month to local agencies. Maybe we'll try Salvation Army this month!

I've been donating to Value Village here because you get a 20% off coupon but this sounds great, I'll have to do them my next time around. Cole just went threw a growth spurt and all of his uniform pants don't fit ;(

Awesome! We just cleaned out closets and we have 3 huge bags ready for Goodwill. I guess we'll have to go to Salvation Army this time :)

Wow that's generous of those stores to provide the gift cards. I usually take my stuff to the local church because they have a whole program that helps right here in our town.

What a great idea. I hate throwing anything out and always want to see if there is someone else who could use it.
