I have always been a huge fan of Harry Morgan, from his days in Dragnet to all the old movies he has been in and especially as Col. Sherman T. Potter in the series M*A*S*H (one of my favorite TV shows).
I was so saddened to hear of his passing - an on my birthday, too. But he led a long fulfilling life with two loving wives, the first ending when his beloved Eileen Detchon (who's photo sat on Col. Potter's desk in the M*A*S*H series) died in 1985. He was still married to Barbara Bushman Quine upon his death this past Wednesday.

Condolences to his wife and family... Harry Morgan, you were a wonderful actor and you will be missed.
Today Lucille Ball would have turned 100 years young and I'm sure many of you miss her as much as I do. She was such a terrific comedienne - she was funny without having to be dirty or vulgar. Her show "I Love Lucy" was one that the whole family could watch together and be entertained; oh, the predicaments she and Ethel got themselves into..... These are photos from me and my son, Alexander's (and I am sure many of you) favorite episodes of her show.
Who can forget Lucy stomping on those grapes or stuffing those chocolates in her mouth, bra and hat? Just thinking about it makes me smile. When Alexander would have bad dreams, we would talk about the grape stomping episode and we would laugh and he would go back to sleep with a smile on his face.
Not only was Lucy a comedienne, she was an incredible leading lady who looked absolutely glamorous:

I saw this commercial the other day and actually laughed so hard, that I woke up two of the puppies (you know, the ones that lie behind my head, TeeHee). The baby in it is SO adorable and his face is so expressive and his eyes are so big and brown... I just had to share it with y'all. I hope you like it as much as I did:

Here are the questions for this weeks mingle:
1. Which decade do you think would have been most fun? I think I would have loved to live in the 60's - I watch old movies with Doris Day and it looks like SO much fun to go to all those parties and wear all those cool clothes - and the hats, I LOVE hats, but people don't wear them anymore. I would love to wear hats, but now I would just look silly.
2. On what TV show would you like to have a guest starring role? I would have liked to have been either on the TV show "That Girl" (does anyone even remember that show???) or on "Friends" because they are both about young people starting out on their own and I never really had a chance to do that. I went right from living in my parent's home to living with my first husband at age 20. Then when I got divorced, I was living with two small children; then I got remarried and again moved with the kids to living with another man. I never got the chance to live on my own and just have fun. Not that I would trade my husband or children for anything - I love them dearly and would give my life for any of them, I just wonder what it would be like to not be responsible for anyone but myself.
3. What’s the strangest/weirdest thing you’ve ever done? I won a spitting contest (yep, I know gross, right) off the top of a cruise ship into a garbage container on the dock. It's a very long story that I don't remember, but I've seen it on video... Let's just say we were docked in New Orleans - 'nuff said! :)

OK, I had this post almost completely done last night (Sunday) but was falling asleep because of some cold medicine I took. {You should have seen the gibberish I was typing - HaHa!} But then I woke up this morning to the blue screen of death! ARGH!!!! I spent all day trying to fix this damn computer... this is the 4th time I have had to do this with my laptop since I got it in November 2009. I will never get another HP laptop again. As soon as I get enough cash together - I'm getting a new one!!
TNT introduces the new series "Falling Skies" based on the Web Comic by Paul Tobin, starring Noah Wyle and produced by Steven Spielberg... coming in June 2011!!
FALLING SKIES opens in the chaotic aftermath of an alien attack that has left most of the world completely incapacitated. In the six months since the initial invasion, the few survivors have banded together outside major cities to begin the difficult task of fighting back. Each day is a test of survival as citizen soldiers work to protect the people in their care while also engaging in an insurgency campaign called 2nd Mass against the occupying alien force.
We made it. Finally. We arrived just as the sun was coming up. It was gorgeous the way the dawn�s light reflected in the glassy lake. I guess I never really noticed how beautiful it was up here. It was so peaceful, it made everyone feel a little safer.
Written by Paul Tobin and illustrated by Juan Ferreyra, the Falling Skies Web Comic will bridge the gap between the 12-page Falling Skies comic released at New York Comic Con. Be sure to check back every two weeks for a new chapter.
Paul Tobin is a writer from Portland, Oregon, who works on Marvel Comics titles such as Spider-Girl and Marvel Adventures: Spider-Man, among many others. In addition, Paul works for Dark Horse (Predators movie adaptation, Conan) and DC Comics, and has an upcoming graphic novel (Gingerbread Girl) from Top Shelf, created in collaboration with his wife, artist Colleen Coover. Paul is also very bald and works on novels.
Juan Ferreyra began drawing comics with Small Gods for Image, and then Emissary and Lazarus for Image's imprint Shadowline. He worked on Dark Horse's Rex Mundi while at the same time coloring Conan and the Midnight God and Solomon Kane: Death's Black Riders. Now he's working on a creator-owned book called La 6ème heure for French publisher Soleil. He lives in Argentina.
Andrew Dalhouse made his first appearance coloring comics with The Texas Chainsaw Massacre for Avatar Press. Andrew followed this macabre masterpiece with such books as Marvel Zombies: Evil Evolution, Lady Death, and Hack/Slash, to name but a few. Mr. Dalhouse's work currently can also be found in Disney's Darkwing Duck, Boom's The Incredibles, and Dark Horse Comics' The Occultist.
Nate Piekos, AKA Blambot, graduated with a BA in design from Rhode Island College. Since founding blambot.com, he has lettered comic books for Marvel, DC, Oni Press, and Dark Horse. Nate's designs have also been featured worldwide in print, on television, and in feature films.

As you guys know, I LOVE cop dramas on TV and some of my favorites are on TNT. One of my faves is coming back on Jan. 4th at 10:00PM/9:00c - the critically acclaimed 3rd season premier of "SouthLAnd" is coming back to TNT. This is a show that incorporates the city of Los Angeles as a character as much as the actors. Take a look at this video for a sneak peak of the upcoming season:
As the time-slot indicates, this is definitely an adult drama, with some violence and language, but I love the grittiness and the truthfulness of the series as it tackles some really deep issues both on the streets and in the cast's home lives. Speaking of the cast, they have really chosen some amazing actors that work tremendously together to form a fabulous ensemble... you will truly by impressed.
