Saturday 9: I Think We're Alone Now

This meme was begun by Crazy Sam, here are her words:

"Welcome to Saturday: 9 . What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!"

Saturday 9: I Think We're Alone Now

1. What celebrity in a fantasy would you like to be alone with? Johnny Depp (Didn't I answer this before???)

2. Have ever dated a good friend? Um, yes, I even married him! I think that worked out best.

3. What is the most embarrassing song that you like? I'm sure there are lots more, but the first one that comes to mind is "Escape (The Pina Colada Song)" by Rupert Holmes.

4. What is your favorite tear jerker movie? "Beaches" with Bette Midler and Barbara Hershey

5. What about yourself makes you least secure? Myself - in general

6. Do you believe in destiny? No, I think we shape our own fate.

7. What 'issue' do you think your opinion is so right about that you end up trying to sway others to your point of view? The ridiculous amount of money that sports players are paid, then they dance around the field or court when they do their job (i.e. make a touchdown, basket, goal, or whatever) like they have just found the cure for cancer. I think they should take all that money, pay them a decent, livable salary, and give the rest of the money to: teachers, policemen, firemen and soldiers -- the TRUE heroes in our society!!

8. What are 5 things you don't care about? 1. Twitter; 2. Reality TV; 3. Baseball; 4. The Twilight Series (I know, shocking); and 5. Anything else vampire TV, movie, or book related.

9. Have you ever been in a situation where you weren't sure if you were seducing or being seduced? No... I know the difference, and know HOW to do the seducing, IF I want to.

That's it for this weeks Saturday 9. Don't forget to link your post and visit the other participants. Have a wonderful week.

Until next time..... Lorie

Hi There - Wicked Migraine Today Due to Bad Weather

Sorry I haven't been around today, I haven't been to anyone's blog today and I haven't posted anything today, yet. I haven't read a single email, and I just turned my computer on.

We were awakened this morning at 3:00AM by our NOAA radio because of an approaching tornado. We watched the local TV station, WKMG, to see how close it was and we were up until about 3:45 until the storm passed. We were very lucky that it didn't touch down in our community, but it did touch down about 40 minutes from here, doing quite a bit of damage. {News footage provided by WKMG.com}

The NOAA radio went off two more times during the night with warnings for towns a bit farther north of us, so I didn't get much sleep. Then, due to the tremendous amount of air pressure during the night and then the dramatic change in pressure in the morning, I woke up at about 9:00AM with a horrible migraine, could hardly see, was so nauseated, and was so dizzy. I just took some medication and stayed in bed. My wonderful husband took the dog for a walk (twice) brought me some juice and coffee (which I only had two sips of each), and I went back to sleep.

I didn't even get up out of bed until 3:00PM, and Nano had been upstairs in the room with me to make sure that I was OK. Then I just hung out on the couch doing nothing, I still felt pretty lousy. I'm doing a bit better now, after taking meds and resting all day, and will try to catch up on all my visiting tomorrow. Those of you who do not suffer from migraines have NO idea how debilitating they can be, and those of you that do, I totally empathize with you and you SO know how I felt today. There was NO way I could look at a computer screen, let alone READ anything.

Hope you all had a wonderful day, and a fabulous weekend.

Until next time..... Lorie

12 by 12 Reading Challenge: January

I learned of this great reading challenge from J. Kaye's Book Blog - a wonderful blog that is a terrific source for all things book related. If you love books, you HAVE to check out Kaye's blog.
Here is the idea behind the challenge:

The 12 by 12 Reading Challenge will be twelve book bloggers, each hosting their own Just Read More Novel’s Month throughout 2010. Participants can join in one, two, or all twelve of these separate reading challenges. Each month starts a brand new reading challenge. And the goal? To simply read more novels.

January is hosted by
National Just Read More Novels Month and I'll be posting the novels that I've read here. I have only read one so far this month, but I will be reading more, and I will post the final count at the end of the month.

1. The Inquisitor: A Medical Thriller by Peter Clement

I found this on CuteOverload today and had to share it with you all. It really made my day... have some tissues handy:

Here is Ricochet's Official website - He is truly a remarkable dog!

Disney World with Alex, Part 2: EPCOT

To read about Part 1 see the post on our trip to the Magic Kingdom.

Our second day at Disney World with Alexander, Rachel and Devon was spent at EPCOT. This is Bill and my favorite park. We love the different countries represented in Future World - especially the different types of food you can eat.

Then of course, there are all the fun rides in Future World... I can only go on some of them, but the rest of the gang went on everything. I enjoyed people watching and the beautiful day.

Then at the end of the day we watched the wonderful fireworks show, it was a great day.

Don't the kids look like they had a really good time?

Of course they slept extremely well that night.....

We also spent a day at The Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, I'll write a post about that in the future... look for Part 3 in the near future. Have a great week.

Until next time..... Lorie

Ruby Tuesday: Red in the Laundry

When I dumped the laundry on the bed to fold the other day, I couldn't help but notice all the red in the pile - a sign of the season that had just past, or maybe just my love of the color!

Happy Ruby Tuesday, don't forget to link up to Work of the Poet and visit the other participants.

Have a lovely day..... Until next time..... Lorie

Cartoon of the Day: New Pet

Shame on Daddy... We all know that they do it, but we let them get away with it because they are really just little boys at heart.
