Here are some photos of my son, Nikolaus, from Indiana where he is finishing up his training before heading over to Afghanistan. Right now he is in Louisiana for some more specialized training, and got the official date for when he will be shipped out: February 7, 2010 - just two days before his 22nd birthday. By the way, he has also received two promotions since he has joined, he has gone from Private to Private First Class to what he is now a Specialist... Thank you very much! I have a very smart young man, if I do say so myself.... Proud mama here!!
Here is Nikolaus with his unit, he is the one with the black hat over his face - he doesn't like the cold either, just like his mommy! Thank you all for your good thoughts and prayers. Please keep all the troops in your hearts and minds until this war is over - no matter your politics - these young men and women need our support.
