Rodan & Fields Skin Care: Prescription for Change; plus *** Giveaway worth $200 ***

.
GIVEAWAY CLOSED!!

I am so excited to announce that I have partnered with two of the most famous dermatologists in changing skin and changing lives. I am sure that almost all of you have heard of Proactiv... well the doctors who developed that amazing product, Katie Rodan and Kathy Fields have developed a skin care line to answer the $2.5Billion - and growing daily - industry of ANTI-AGING!!

Think about it... we are all aging, all the time... hard to think about, right? But it is never too soon or too late to incorporate anti-aging skincare into your daily routine. Although the signs of aging manifest differently for different skin types, the principles of combating the ravages of time are the same:

~ Keep cell renewal vibrant
~ Protect from collagen breakdown
~ Support natural restorative processes
~ Get ingredients to their proper target
~ Avoid sun exposure

While everyday skin conditions can be complex, the solutions don’t have to be. Drs. Rodan and Fields philosophy is using the right medicines and active cosmetics, in the right formulations, in the right order, combining OTC (over-the-counter) medicines and active cosmetic ingredients to create safe and effective formulations. And because real results come over time with regular use, our Multi-Med Therapy regimens come packaged in 60 day quantities along with  a 60-day Satisfaction Guarantee.

Let me introduce you to the four basic regimens for daily skin care:

ANTI-AGE
For fine lines, wrinkles, and loss of firmness.
(This is what I use and TOTALLY love!)

REVERSE
For brown spots, dullness, and sun damage.

SOOTHE
For sensitive, irritated skin, and facial redness.
UNBLEMISH
For acne and post-acne marks in adult skin.

For more information on these products and additional products available, head over to my Rodan and Fields website, there is also a tool there to see what regimen is right for your skin type.

Now, our skin by design is meant to keep things OUT... including good things, like our skincare regimen which is why so many people go to dermatologists to have things injected into their skin {{{Shudder}}}. This is the reason Drs. Rodan and Fields developed the amazing patent-pending system system called Amp MD Maximum Delivery System.

This best spent minute in anti-aging is a non-invasive, skincare roller clinically proven to safely and effectively condition the uppermost layers of the skin to allow for maximum benefits associated with the skin-transforming ingredients of ANTI-AGE Night Renewing Serum. Recommended for use in conjunction with the ANTI-AGE Regimen for best anti-aging results. System contains reusable AMP MD roller, two month supply of Night Renewing Serum, reusable Cleansing Vial and two month supply of Purification Tablets. Check out this video on how it works... I absolutely LOVE this product and use it three times a week, the serum feels incredible on my skin and I can see a difference in the fine lines around my eyes and lips even after just two weeks. It truly is life changing. Check out my before and after photos on Facebook.

Final Thursday Recipe Swap Meet ~ Tomato and Olive Salad

.

Unfortunately, due to time restraints and the many things that have been going on in both mine and Dolly's lives, I'm sorry to say that we will have to discontinue our Recipe Swap Meet on Thursdays.... AAWWW!! (This doesn't mean I won't on occasion share a recipe that I find is wonderful and share it with you fabulous people, because you know that I lubs you all!!)

As for those of you that have been so wonderful each week and left comments and your own recipes, please let me say: THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Without your support, we would not have been as successful and found so many delicious recipes.

So for my final recipe, I want to share one of my favorite summertime recipes that you can use the last of your summer tomatoes in:

Tomato and Olive Salad

2 -3 ripe tomatoes cut into cubes (I like either beefsteak or on the vine)
1 ball fresh mozzarella cheese cut into cubes
1/2 cup pitted kalamata olives (Lindsay are my favorite)
1/2 cup sliced pitted black olives (again Lindsay are the best tasting)
1/2 cup pimento stuffed queen size green Spanish olives (have to go with Lindsay on this one too)
1/2 cup Hormel pepperoni minis (I have fallen in love with these little bite size pieces)
Pepper and Garlic Salt to taste
EVOO and balsamic vinegar to taste

~ Mix all ingredients in a large bowl and enjoy, either at room temperature or slightly chilled.

This received mixed puppy tail wags... depending what part of the salad they got. Pepperoni: 6 wags; cheese: 6 wags; olives: 0 wags; tomatoes: 2 wags (Mumbo and Maila will eat just about anything).

Thank you all so much again, for all your support with mine and Dolly's meme. We wish you all much happiness, good health and good eats - or as Dolly would say... Nummers!!

Please know that you  can hook up with our friend and constant supporter over at Time 2 Eat Yall - her blog is all about "everything food: recipes, reviews, giveaways, tips."

Bon Appetit, my friends!!

{Disclosure: I have not been paid by any of the companies who's links I have included. I have found that they work best in my recipe and wanted to share them with my friends. However, if any of these companies want to contact me to do any reviews or giveaways, I am more than happy to oblige!}

38 Special at the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival

.

On Monday night, Bill and I went to EPCOT for the Food and Wine Festival to have a bit to eat and to see 38 Special in concert. As usual, we loved every minute of our time there....

We got in line for the 2nd thirty minute concert and Bill had just enough time to go get us something to eat at the Polish station. We had pierogies with kielbasa and grilled sweet onions, mmmmm, so good.

Then the concert was 30 minutes of excellent rock and roll. Here are some of the photos (the rest will be on Facebook):

After the awesome concert, we went off to eat more food... yummy! We stopped at the Italy cart and Bill had some delicious baked cheese ravioli and I had cappelini with spicy shrimp. Next we stopped for dessert at another Italian cart for tiramisu, which was to DIE FOR!!!

What a great date night with my wonderful hubby!! We plan on heading back on Friday to see Jon Secada..... and of course try out some more food. =)

Hope if you are in the central Florida area you get a chance to go to the Food and Wine Fest... is outstanding! Check out Disney's website for a list of all the Eat to the Beat concerts.

{Disclosure: I was not compensated in any way by Disney for this post. I have my annual Disney Pass and I just LOVE all things Disney and we have so much fun when we go that I wanted to share the event with all of you.}

Happy 100th Birthday to my Father-in-Law

.
Credit

Today, October 3, 2011 would have been my Father-in-Law, William Harry Shewbridge's 100th birthday. I unfortunately never had the chance to meet him as he had already passed away when Bill and I started dating.

I did get to know about his character from cards and letters I found that he had written to my mother-in-law through-out their marriage when we were cleaning out their house when my MIL passed. He was a very sweet and sentimental man who truly loved his wife with his whole heart.... Kind of sounds like a man that I know and love deeply.

I truly wish that I could have gotten to meet my FIL, just so I could tell him THANK YOU! He raised one of the most wonderful men in the world... a man who is caring, loving, thoughtful, and generous. And not just to me; he is that way to my boys and to all the people we meet. He helps those less fortunate and is always there with a smile or being silly just to make me or anyone happy. This I know he got from his father.... so Happy Birthday, Harry - I love you for giving me the most wonderful gift I could have ever received!

Monday's Music Moves Me: Oct. 3, 2011 ~ Take Me Back to the '80s

.

Photobucket

Welcome to a Monday's Music Moves Me, the fantabulistic music meme hosted by me, my dearest of friends Dolly from XmasDolly, Callie from Jamerican Spice and the wonderful Stacy from Stacy Uncorked. This week's theme is Music from the 1980's! So, what's moving you today???

Let's just say, in my opinion, the music of the '80s just doesn't do much for me in general. I was still listening to the great rock 'n roll of the '60s and '70s but I did manage to find some decent music from my four years in high school, 1980 - 1983 to be precise. Here they are in chronological order for you.....

Another Brick in the Wall ~ Pink Floyd

..... Gotta love Pink Floyd!

I Love Rock and Roll ~ Joan Jett and The Blackhearts

..... funny thing, I just sold my black leather pants at our community porch and yard sale this weekend.

Sweet Dreams ~ Eurythmics

..... I love Annie Lennox's voice, have you seen her lately? She looks so much different, but still has those beautifully expressive eyes.

Jump ~ VanHalen

..... there's nothing like an '80s "hair band!" =)

Hope you liked my selections from my high school years - 1980, 81, 82, and 1983... what's moving you today? Write up a post and let us know... Here is all you need to do to play along:

First step: Head on over to You Tube, or anywhere you get your music videos and post them on your blog! Upcoming themes are to you LOWER RIGHT of XmasDolly's blog.

Shadow Photo ~ I Love This.....

.

On my walk with the dogs this morning, I saw this at my neighbor's house and I just had to take a photograph of it because I love the way it made a shadow on the sidewalk.....

How cool is that? I don't know if you can see the dragonfly on top of the house and in the shadow, but it just adds the perfect touch.

I LOVE Halloween and can't wait to add more photos from around my neighborhood, people go all out around here. We even have two houses that have synchronized lights and Halloween music. Halloween also puts me in the holiday spirit. Hope you are all having a great autumn so far.

HUGGLES!!

OK... we know you have all these recipes that you love to make. You got them from your mother, your grandmother, a magazine, or maybe you made it up, perhaps you don't even remember where the recipe came from. Well, how about sharing them with all of us? We are going to share ours with you every Thursday!

My good friend and (according to her husband) excellent cook, Dolly over at XmasDolly and I are now doing a recipe swap; we want to share ours with you and wold LOVE to get some of your favorites as well... So, Welcome to Thursday's Recipe Swap Meet, here is all you have to do:

Photobucket

Post a recipe on your blog, sign the linky on either blog (they will be linked), grab our new button - isn't she cute - hubby says she looks like me... TeeHee? (above, on my sidebar and on my Co-Chef Dolly's blog) and check out the recipes. Don't forget that each week you actually will be getting at least TWO for the price of ONE because both Dolly (Hi, my dear friend!!!) and I will post a recipe on each of our blogs. How simple is that??

This recipe is really simple and you all probably know it or have at least seen it... we are having it for dinner tonight (hence no new photos) with some fresh tomatoes on the side. Just in case you don't know how to make them, I wanted to share the recipe with you.....

Crescent Hot Dogs

1 pkg hot dogs (I use Oscar Mayer regular wieners or Omaha Steaks)
8 oz. can Pillsbury buttery flaky crescent rolls (the generic just aren't the same)
4 slices your favorite cheese (Land O' Lakes only in this house)
Mustard to taste

~ Preheat oven to 375 degrees
~ Separate crescent rolls into triangles; spread desired amount of mustard onto each triangle.
~ Cut cheese slices into 4 strips each; cut slit into each hot dog within 1/2" of each end; stuff 2 strips of cheese into each hot dog.
~ Lay 1 stuffed hot dog onto 1 triangle each, wrap dough around hot dog; place on ungreased (I use a parchment lined) baking sheet.
~ Bake in preheated oven for 12 - 15 minutes, until crescents are golden brown and cheese is melted.

These are soooo yummy! They get 6 out of 6 puppy tail wags as my doggies love everything about them: the hot dogs (of course), the cheese and even the crescents..... Bill and I like them too. =)

So now all you have to do is sign our linky so we all can find your recipes. You check out all ours and we will check out all yours. If you don't want to write it all down and you know of one on line just post a link to it on your blog or leave it in a comment if you prefer!

Let's get cooking..... Bon Appetit

{Disclosure: I have not been paid by any of the companies who's links I have included. I have found that they work best in my recipe and wanted to share them with my friends. However, if any of these companies want to contact me to do any reviews or giveaways, I am more than happy to oblige!}

Picture my Hubby ~ Something to Make you Laugh

.

A Police STOP at 2 AM

An elderly man is stopped by the police around 2 a.m. and is asked asked where he is going at this time of night.

The man replies, "I am on my way to a lecture about alcohol abuse and the effects it has on the human body, as well as smoking and staying out late."

The officer then asks, "Really? Who is giving that lecture at this time of night?"

The man replies, "That would be my wife."
