Our Weekend Recap

On Friday night, Bill, Nano and I went downtown in Celebration to Octoberfest... There were lots of booths set up by the local businesses, with tons of food and drink, and a polka band for dancing and listening.

Plus, at 7pm, 8pm and 9pm "leaves" would fall on Market Street for the kids to pick up in their specially marked bags.

Bill and I each had a pint of Guinness, and I ate a bratwurst with sauerkraut and onions, while Bill ate a slice of pizza, which he shared with Nano.

We also ran into several of our friends and neighbors who were enjoying the fun, food and music. This is my friends Tom & Joan's daughter Katie. She wanted to wear her summer dress, but then realized that it might be a problem when she wanted to go into the bounce house... But Katie is a little tom-boy, so she just went in anyway!

It was a great experience for the whole family. It takes place every October, so if you are ever in central Florida during this time, come on over to Celebration, we'd love to have you.

On Saturday, Bill and I went to a Classic Car Show and 60s Music Fest that was held at a local vineyard: Lakeridge Winery . There were lots of really cool cars, including two cars that were also boats, as well as a 1924 Model T Woody that was original, not a kit, and in amazing condition.

We really enjoyed the first band's music as they played lost of music from the 50s & 60s, including Mustang Sally {appropriate, huh?}, which the crowd sang with great enthusiasm. Especially since the sax player was there to help with the lyrics.
Then there was the Elvis Impersonator... He was actually pretty good. He even came right over and sang to me! Then he gave me his scarf that was autographed, by the impersonator, not Elvis, of course. It was a lot of fun. The admission for the show was just $2.00 (YES, I typed that right) per person... You can't beat that!!We of course ate tons of food, too... they had terrific wine, DUH, and fresh squeezed lemonade, we ate Italian sausage and pepper sandwiches, and Nano had a hamburger. Then later, after a brief rain delay, we had some soft-serve ice cream, which Nano also LOVES!!
The winery also did a wonderful wine tasting of some fabulous wines made from their delicious muscadine grapes and we bought 2 bottles of wine and some delicious bread dipping spices.
We had a terrific weekend ~ we always do when we are together.
Hope you all had a great weekend... Until next time..... Lorie
