Hi There - Wicked Migraine Today Due to Bad Weather

Sorry I haven't been around today, I haven't been to anyone's blog today and I haven't posted anything today, yet. I haven't read a single email, and I just turned my computer on.

We were awakened this morning at 3:00AM by our NOAA radio because of an approaching tornado. We watched the local TV station, WKMG, to see how close it was and we were up until about 3:45 until the storm passed. We were very lucky that it didn't touch down in our community, but it did touch down about 40 minutes from here, doing quite a bit of damage. {News footage provided by WKMG.com}

The NOAA radio went off two more times during the night with warnings for towns a bit farther north of us, so I didn't get much sleep. Then, due to the tremendous amount of air pressure during the night and then the dramatic change in pressure in the morning, I woke up at about 9:00AM with a horrible migraine, could hardly see, was so nauseated, and was so dizzy. I just took some medication and stayed in bed. My wonderful husband took the dog for a walk (twice) brought me some juice and coffee (which I only had two sips of each), and I went back to sleep.

I didn't even get up out of bed until 3:00PM, and Nano had been upstairs in the room with me to make sure that I was OK. Then I just hung out on the couch doing nothing, I still felt pretty lousy. I'm doing a bit better now, after taking meds and resting all day, and will try to catch up on all my visiting tomorrow. Those of you who do not suffer from migraines have NO idea how debilitating they can be, and those of you that do, I totally empathize with you and you SO know how I felt today. There was NO way I could look at a computer screen, let alone READ anything.

Hope you all had a wonderful day, and a fabulous weekend.

Until next time..... Lorie

I'm glad to hear the tornados passed by your community but I'm also sorry to hear they did damage elsewhere.

I had migraines when I was in college, they are definitely debilitating. Hope you are feeling better now.

Oops, I almost forgot. You asked me about the camera settings for the little yellow flower photo. That shot was from late summer so the afternoon sun was a major factor. I don't use a DSLR, but my camera will shoot on manual (it's a bridge digital). I probably used auto but for sure it was the macro setting. I tend to spend a lot of time setting up a shot to get the lighting just right.

Migraines always hit hard. The only thing that helps me is being in a dark room and getting sleep. I know why you couldn't look at a screen. I know you are thankful that your husband is so sweet. That was nice of him to take care of you! I am happy you are doing better.

I am so glad the tornado did not touch down in your community. That is so scary!

I'm so sorry that you're not feeling well. I can barely handle a regular headache so I can't even imagine having a migraine! Hope you're feeling better and staying safe from the bad weather.

Hi, I saw your comment on Mommy Mandy's website & decided to stop by & say Hi to a fellow Floridian.I'm a bit south, down in Royal palm Beach. I'm on disability now & live here with my oldest son. His house is on a nice lake & I've adopted some wonderful Muscovy Ducks & they keep me busy most of the day. That freeezing weather we had a little while ago made so many of the fish freeze & now we have a lake full of dead fish...ick. Poor things,but I don't know what they're going to do about them. Well, I'm going into a novel here & I really did just want to say hi. I hope to talk with you again & I sure hope you're feeling better by now!

Thankfully the tornado passed by. Thank goodness for that radio thingy.

Sorry to hear about your migraine. It sucks when it is THAT bad. Thankfully you had your little Nano and your husband of the year to take care of you.
