Monday's Music Moves Me ~ Give my Regards to Broadway!

Welcome to a Monday's Music Moves Me, the fantabulistic music meme hosted by me, Dolly from XmasDolly, Larry from Cakeblast and Callie from Jamerican Spice and the wonderful Stacy from Stacy Uncorked. This week's theme is Military/Patriotic or Broadway Tunes.

Since I did patriotic tunes last week, I decided to go the Broadway route this week. Bill and I used to go to the theater all the time when we lived in Connecticut, we had a local theater that showed Broadway Musicals and we went to at least 6 a year, but we haven't gone to any since we moved down to Florida, I really miss them. Here are some of my favorites.

"My Fair Lady": Just You Wait ~ Julie Andrews

While I didn't really care for the show itself, I truly loved the following song.....

Memory ~ Original Broadway Cast of "Cats"

Here is another show that I wasn't thrilled with, but the song always gives me goosebumps.....

Seasons of Love ~ Final Performance by the Cast of "Rent"

These next two songs are from my absolute FAVORITE musical... I have seen it three times, once actually on Broadway. I still get chills when I see it or hear the music and my favorite singers are portrayed below.....

Theme from "The Phantom of the Opera": ~ Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman

The Music of the Night ~ Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman

So what's moving you today? Write up a post and let us know... Here is all you need to do to play along:

We're very sorry to say there has been some people not playing along, and just signing our linky so other people will stop by their blogs for giveaways or whatever! Unfortunately, these bloggers will be justifiably deleted without prejudice or notice. Leave a comment, grab our button, or follow us. If you don't want to post a video, you can post a link to a video, or post some lyrics, but please - at least attempt to make it music related. Thank you for your understanding. We will not follow you and we will not promote your blog!

*** Just one thing, please... We are family friendly blogs and while we don't want to censor anyone, we do ask that you keep your songs rated PG13 or less.
If you find that you need to post songs of an explicit sexual nature or language,
please find a different venue.
Thank you very much!***

Rock on, my friends!!

Poor Julie Andrews, she got ripped off when Audrey Hepburn got the movie, I love Audrey Hepburn but Julie Andrews can sing and it is a musical after all! Well, Julie Andrews went onto to have a wonderful career but it is a shame that more people don't get to hear her beautiful voice for the My Fair Lady music too!
Anyway, I loved all your picks!!!

I have seen all the musicals on Broadway or Philadelphia except for My Fair Lady. Seasons of Love is one of my favorites from Rent. I've been Phantom 2 or 3 times!! I saw Cats in Philly years and years ago. Good selections!
