Veteran's Day ~ 11/11/11

.

On this very unique Veteran's Day, I ask you all to take a moment during the day to remember all of those who serve our country, to thank them for all they sacrifice so that we have the freedoms we have.

Please take a special moment to remember those who paid the ultimate price for our freedoms.

Also keep in mind their families today as they remember the loss of a brother, sister, mother, father, son, daughter, etc. What an unselfish thing they have done for all of us. They must be hurting today with their memories. God bless them all.

As for my favorite soldier, I am grateful that you made it home safely from your tour in Afghanistan and I am so proud of the man you have become.

So to all of our troops serving now and who have served, thank you so much for all you have done. I am praying for all the active duty troops to come home safely soon. And a final prayer for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, God bless you and your families.

More Gifts for the Person Who Has Everything.....

.

Do you have that ONE person who it is just impossible to by a gift for? You know the one, no matter what you get them, you get that fake smile and a thank you and then you are asked for the receipt so that the gift can be returned for something that they can find that is more "appropriate."

Well, I have found some gifts that will make anyone and everyone happy... take a look and decide for yourself who you will be getting these for, or maybe you will be keeping them all for yourself.

The Fingerprint Recognizing Espresso Machine..... This is the espresso machine that scans your fingertip to identify and make your preferred coffee drink. Simply place your finger on the biometric scanner to program the kind of drink, amount of coffee, and strength-the machine will make the specified drink every time you scan your finger.  The control panel allows you to make drinks other than the one associated with your fingerprint, the machine brews pre-ground coffee, and it has a removable 54 oz. water tank with an integrated filter. Stores up to six fingerprints and drink profiles in its database...... $ 3,200.00

The External Combustion Kraftwagen..... This is the fully operational car powered by an external combustion Stirling engine. Made in Germany from machine-tooled solid brass, stainless steel, and aluminum, it uses the thermodynamic principle of a regenerative heat engine powered by the expansion and compression of air. Non-toxic exhaust from a full burner of ethyl alcohol allows you to operate the engine for up to 20 minutes allowing the car to perform autonomous circles while it putters efficiently..... $ 999.00

The Copper Alembic Perfume Distiller..... Handcrafted in the Iberian Peninsula by Al-Ambik, reminiscent of those used for over 1,200 years to extract essential oils from plants for use in perfumes. The Swiss Watchmaker's Boîte à Musique..... This is the Swiss-crafted music box that transforms meticulous watch movement into mellifluous melody. This heirloom is expertly crafted by Reuge-renowned horologists since 1865-in Sainte-Croix, Switzerland, considered the birthplace of the mechanical music box. Requiring a three-month, 34-step production process for completion, its accurate Cartel 4.144 movement includes a rotating brass cylinder lined with resin for ideal tonal quality and set with 3,800 wire pins that pluck two 72-note tempered-steel combs in perfect time. The music box produces four different 50-second musical selections exactly as they would sound from 19th century music boxes..... $25,300.00

***This is the one that I really want. So feel free to take up a collection for me***  =)

The Heated Full Body Massage Chair..... This is the only full-body massage chair that combines the invigorating touch of a massage therapist's hands with the restorative sensation of hot stone therapy. Thermal rollers in the chair's back deliver concentrated warmth that increases blood flow to help soothe and relax sore lumbar muscles. The rejuvenating rollers travel from the neck to the waist, replicating the gentle palm style of Swedish massage or the deep-tissue kneading of Shiatsu. Internal sensors make a virtual map of the body's contours so the rollers apply their efforts in the ideal locations along the back and spine. The chair also features hand and arm massagers in the arm rest, airbags around the midsection that massage hips, thighs and glutes, and a footrest with cushions that knead feet and calves for a realistic massage experience..... $7,000.00

So, there you have it... the perfect gifts for everyone on your list - including ME!!

Wising you all a joyous holiday season filled with happiness, love and lots of HUGGLES!!

Monday's Music Moves Me: Nov. 7, 2011 ~ Night Ranger Then and Now

.

Photobucket

Welcome to a Monday's Music Moves Me, the fantabulistic music meme hosted by me, my dearest of friends Dolly from XmasDolly, Callie from Jamerican Spice and the wonderful Stacy from Stacy Uncorked. This week's theme is all about The Eighties! So, what do YOU remember from the 80's besides big hair and tight pants??? If you are too young to remember the 80's, you can post your favorite Disney song, we all have at least ONE of those.

I was lucky enough to see today's featured band this past Friday night at EPCOT in Walt Disney World during the Food and Wine Festival. There was some SERIOUSLY AWESOME guitar playing during the concert!

The following two songs were played during the concert on Friday and I actually think they sounded better than when they played in the 80's. They did the entire set on electric acoustic guitars... it was amazing.  I have posted all the photos on Facebook.

Enjoy.....

Halloween 2011

.

We've had a pretty busy Halloween around here... On Thursday evening, the local pet supply store, Woof Gang Bakery, that we totally adore because it is SO much more that just a pet store, (It is the place that held the adoption event where we were lucky enough to get Mandie.), held it's annual Howl-O-Ween party. We love going to this event as it is a chance to get together with friends and neighbors and their doggies for some treats for both the humans and the pets. Here are some photos of us getting our doggies ready for the party:

Nano as Jack Sparrow
Mumbo as Hotdog
Mia just wouldn't stand still for a photo... temperamental princess. =)

Cannot get ALL six???
Finally all six: Mandie, Mai-Li, Nano, Maila, Mumbo, Mia

So once we all got ready, we took all six to the party... it was the first time we have ever taken all six to an event.  I am happy to say they all behaved amazingly. They had a great time with all the other doggies and loved the attention they got from all the humans. Here are some photos from the party:

Nano makes a friend

Mumbo makes a friend

I think the boys are gonna fight over this beautiful girl. TeeHee!!

Owner dressed as Geisha

Mai-Li as Bumblebee - Isn't she adorable?

Don't they all look so adorable? I love that Woof Gang Bakery does this for the families in our community and for lots of abandoned animals in shelters. They raise money at these events for so many animal charities that it makes me proud to help them and share the information with you.

This is how MUCH fun my babies had at the party:

Mandie, losing the hat

Good night sleepy Mai-Li Bee

Maila - fallen angel

Hope you all had a happy Halloween... OH, and if you have any Mounds bars left over, send them my way. We ran out of candy around 7:40p.m. - I made 200 baggies to hand out and can't believe they went that fast. HUGGLES to y'all!
