Our 16th Wedding Anniversary

.

Like you're surprised I had Mickey Mouse Invitations.

Sixteen years ago today, I married my best friend, the love of my life, the most wonderful man in the world, and each and every day since then I have grown to love him more and more.

My beautiful boys gave me away. (L: Nik; R: Alex)

Bill has been there for me and the boys since the first day we met, to love and care for us and to always make us laugh. Even our wedding was filled with love and laughter.

I'm sure you can't see it, but my boxer shorts match Bill's tie.
They are both St. Patrick's Day Mickey Mouse.

I am the luckiest woman in the world to have Bill in my life. We have had some tough times during our marriage, but through it all we have stuck together and grown closer. Since he is retired and I am disabled, we spend almost all of our time together. When he is upstairs on his computer and I am downstairs on my laptop, we send each other IM love notes - he is so sweet!

Bill, I love you more today than I did the day I met you in 1995 and more than the day we married in 1997. Every day I love you more and more... I look forward to spending the rest of my life with you.

HAPPY 16th ANNIVERSARY!!!!!

But of course, we cannot do that without all of you... so come on share your music with us and get your friends to share with us, too. Our fearless leader is none other that the sweetest and most wonderful Marie of XmasDolly. Helping her keep this train running are ME, my dear friend Stacy of Stacy Uncorked and the lovely Callie of Jamerican Spice. We will also have some helpers along the way when we need to because life is.... well, life!

Here is what you need to do to play along.....

First step: Head on over to You Tube, or anywhere you get your music videos and post them on your blog! Upcoming themes are to you LOWER RIGHT of XmasDolly's blog.

Second Step: Grab our "Monday's Music Moves Me" Button, mine is on my right sidebar, or off of any of the hosts' sites.

Third step: SIGN THE LINKY - Follow your hosts (we will all follow you and try to comment each week), grab their buttons too when you visit them and show them some love by leaving a comment.. (mine is on my right sidebar above the 4M button)

Final step: Go visit the other Rockers on our Linky and PLEASE show them some love by leaving them a comment, you know you like comments, they do too!

Today's theme is Songs played at your wedding (or the year of your wedding). If not married your favorite song when you were 21 - so pick your songs, write up your post and share with us because we love music and we love you all.

Bill and I got married in 1997, and as you can see by the invitation above, (were you surprised by the Mickey and Minnie on it???) Nikolaus and Alexander gave me away...

Here are some songs from our wedding and our love story.

The first song we ever danced to and we played during our wedding.....

Wonderful Tonight ~ Eric Clapton

This is another song that means a lot to both of us and we danced to at our wedding.....

Because You Loved Me ~ Celine Dion

This song is "our song" - it says everything that Bill and I mean to each other and it is the first song that we danced to at our wedding.....

I'll Always Be Right There ~ Bryan Adams

Our first dance:

Then by the end of the night, we were partying  to rock and roll (would you expect any less from me) with all our friends.....

You Shook Me All Night Long ~ AC/DC

Now, you know there were a couple Elvis songs during the wedding, too, but since I did a complete post to him last week, I decided not to post any this week. =)

What did you play at your wedding? What are your memories? Once you write up your post, don't forget to sing the linky (on any of the host's blog - they are all connected) and you may be chosen as our SPOTLIGHT DANCERS like this week's lucky couple in our #1 and #2 linky spots.....

Gillian of A Daft Scots Lass ~~ and ~~ Tom of Indroducing Mr. Cool

CONGRATULATIONS!!

Don't forget... if you are one of the lucky ones chosen for our spotlight dance, you get to grab the Spotlight Dancer Button from Dolly's right sidebar and proudly display it on your blog... WooHoo!

Now, don't forget to sign the linky, visit the participants, and leave a comment - you know you like them, so does everyone else. For more Monday music fun, visit Lady Estrogen and my friend Denise at Run DMT

ROCK ON MY FRIENDS

If you don't want to post a video, you can post a link to a video, or post some lyrics, but please - at least attempt to make it music related.

*** Just one more thing...

but we do ask that you keep your songs rated PG13 or less.

Thank you very much!***

Maria's Space

My friend Maria over at Maria's Space started this meme to get us out from BEHIND the camera and showcase our own lovely faces on our blogs.... We don't want to have a blog full of our family, friends and children and when we go back years later and wonder.... where the heck were we and what did we look like?

This is a photo from a wedding I attended this past Thursday of two very good friends. Full post to follow.

Join Maria by posting your beautiful face and linking up with Maria over at Maria's Space and visiting the other participants and leaving them a nice comment.

Have a great week everyone!

14 Years Ago I Became the Happiest Woman on Earth

.

Can you see, I made sure Mickey Mouse was at my wedding?

Bill and I are celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary today.

After a horrible first marriage, I swore I would never get married again! Bill and I were working together and became good friends but were not looking for a relationship at all, I mean, come on.... look at our age difference, besides I did not want to fall in love - men were EVIL!!!

But then it happened, he was just too darned sweet, he made me smile again, he made me feel like I was worth something, not a worthless individual. He made me laugh - A LOT!! We had so much in common: music, movies, TV, friends.... could I really be falling in love again???  NOPE, not me!!  OK, maybe I was, but I was NOT going to get married - EVER AGAIN!!

Then Bill asked me to move in with him, he loved me, I loved him and it would be so much less expensive, so I said OK, but I wasn't getting married ever again! He would ask, "Not even to me?" and I'd say NO!

Then one morning in December 1996 as I was ironing his shirt for work at 5:30 in the morning - looking all bedhead and horrible - he came running down the stairs (in his underwear, no less) and said to me, "You HAVE to marry me!" I looked up at that adorable face and said, "OK!" and went back to ironing his shirt, he went off to work and I went back to bed. We got married in March 1997.... and although it hasn't always been sunshine and roses (who has or even WANTS that?) it has been the best 14 years of my life.

Bill has been my love, my soulmate, and the best step-father anyone could ever ask for.  I love him more now than I did that day he came running down the stairs in his underwear... :)

The photographer told them they could be silly.

My boxers under my dress match Bill's tie - Mickey Mouse - TeeHee!

Bill, thank you so much for giving me such a beautiful life full of fun, happiness and love. I wouldn't change a single minute of it.... I wish and pray for 50 more years with you.

I love you with all my heart and soul.

How to Impress Your New Wife!

I found this on Wedinator and fell in love with it. The groom is Lin-Manuel Miranda, Broadway & Hollywood composer, actor, producer, writer, and director.  Take a look at what he did to surprise his new bride, Vanessa. It is beautiful..... Enjoy!

"L'Chiam" is one of my favorite songs from Fiddler on the Roof and now every time I hear it, I will think of this wonderful couple.  Wishing you all a wonderful week..... "To Life!"
