Cartoon of the Day: Teenagers

Until next time..... Lorie

Hi!! I'm Still Around -- Just Busy!

Howdy Everyone!

Just wanted to let you know that I am still here, and apologize for not posting or visiting you all.

My son, Alexander and his girlfriend Rachel are visiting this week and we have been SO busy having lots of fun! We have been citrus picking, to Disney World twice already, we have set up our Christmas tree {it was just like when he was little :-) I loved it!} and we are going back to Disney two more times. We celebrated my birthday Monday, December 7th - it was wonderful. I have taken about 200 pictures already, and I'm sure there will be more.

I also have to get everything wrapped and ready for Christmas this week because I am scheduled for cervical spine surgery on the 14th and will be laid up for a few weeks after that... WHEW!! So, as you can see, things have been hectic, and I am a bit behind... not to mention, the regular day-to-day things that need to get done, like laundry. {OH THE PILES!} However, I am SO lucky that I have the most spectacular husband because he does just about all of the housekeeping, except laundry and cooking - he is a HUGE help, and when I have down time, I can blog, which I happen to have this morning.... I am going to try and get to as many of you as I can this morning, as soon as I get through my 806 emails.... UGH!

Wishing you all the best as you get ready for the holidays, and I will try and get through my photos and post some soon.... Until next time..... Lorie

Praise for Me Do Good Shirt Company

I just want to let you know about a company that I had a great experience with ~ Me Do Good. It is a company that sells t-shirts with positive and inspirational messages. Here is what Brad says on the website:

"Our goal is to utilize stylish – high quality t-shirts to combat some of the negative and materialistic influence this culture embraces by providing thought provoking, positive messages to a generation in need of guidance, hope and a purpose for their own life, and the world around them. Each and every t-shirt purchased creates one more positive message – to remind others of the values we all strive to instill in our core, moral foundation in a viral, “pay it forward” manner."

I'd like to bring to your attention one t-shirt that can make a difference in so many lives this holiday season. It's for the Wounded Warriors at Walter Reed and Brooke Army Medical Centers. For only $10.00, you can see to it that a wounded soldier receives this wonderful t-shirt and a card before Christmas. Please head on over to Me Do Good and show our wounded heroes how much we care about them and how much we appreciate what they have sacrificed.

The website is undergoing some recent updates, but you can email Brad at brad@medogood.com for any information on ordering t-shirts.
Until next time..... Lorie
{I received no compensation for this post, I purchased my own t-shirt and sent a t-shirt to a wounded warrior. All the opinions expressed in this post are those of myself alone. For full disclosure policy, please see bottom of blog.}

Mama Always Said, "Don't Try This at Home!"

I feel SO bad for this young girl... make sure you have your speakers on, you will NOT believe the THUD. I actually said "ouch" out loud.

Christmas Joke of the Day #4

Every December it was the same excruciating tradition. Our family would get up at the crack of dawn, go to a Christmas tree farm and tromp across acres of snow in search of the perfect tree. Hours later our feet would be freezing, but Mom would press on, convinced the tree of her dreams was "just up ahead."

One year I snapped. "Mom, face it. The perfect tree doesn't exist. It's like looking for a man. Just be satisfied if you can find one that isn't dead, doesn't have too many bald spots and is straight."

Ruby Tuesday: It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas 12/1/09

Welcome to Ruby Tuesday.....
This is what greeted us when we walked in Super Target on November 11th and it took my breath away. I just thought is was so pretty, although it was a bit early in my opinion, it still started to get me in the Christmas spirit:

Make sure you head over to Mary's blog The Work of the Poet to take a look at the other participants' photos and to add your post to the link.
