Today I have decided to post a photo of our little Mia when she was just 4 years old - she is now 6 1/2 but is still lovable and cuddly. Any of you who know us, know that we totally adore and spoil our fur-babies. As you can see in this photo, Mia even has on her pearl necklace. Can you say DIVA????

Flashback Friday - The Boys with Grandpa

So this is the photo I chose to share this week. It is the last photo I have of my dad (he passed away 6 months later), and I'm really glad that my two boys are in the photo with him, they had a very special relationship with their grandpa. They are the only boys in that generation... all my sisters had daughters, and even the greatgrandchildren are girls.

Friday Flashback Photo ~ Baby Nano

We had to take poor little Nano to the Vet Thursday morning because he was having trouble with his right front leg. We noticed it on Wednesday night and had no idea what happened. The Vet said he was pretty sure nothing was broken and that it was just a soft tissue injury. We figured it happened while the dogs were horsing around with each other. He was given a steroid shot and an anti-inflammatory and is doing a lot better today. He still cannot walk on it completely and the Vet said not to let him take his walks all weekend so he can rest his leg - that makes him really sad because he LOVES going outside with us.

All this had looking at photos of Nano as a baby, so I decided to share some with y'all today. Hope you like them, I happen to think he's adorable:

I think Nano is still really adorable at 5 1/2 years old, and he'll always be my baby.

I have been so busy lately, that I haven't done one of these posts in several months, but I wanted to take this opportunity to showcase my Uncle Raymond (my dad's brother) in Korea when he was in the Air Force.

I also want to share a photo of my son when he was in Afghanistan serving in the Army. Today is the 2nd anniversary of the death of one of his brothers-in-arms.

As you celebrate your holiday weekend, please remember those who have served to protect our country and their families. Pray for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice:

This week I am posting a photo of Bill, Nikolaus and Alexander from 2004 in front of our house right after we had just gotten it. They were so excited about having a new house in Florida (as was I) and couldn't wait to get inside to see it (Bill & I had already been inside at the closing), but of course I had to be a good photographer and "Memory Keeper" and make them all stop and take a photo. =)
 
 

 
I can't believe how short Alexander is and that Nikolaus has no tattoos or muscles, they look like such little boys to me. They are all grown up and men now and I am so proud of both of them.

OK, ladies, how many of you remember "Glamour Shots?" You know those places in the mall in the 80's where they put too much make-up on you, did your hair up too big and gave you "sexy" clothes to wear, then took photos of you to make you look "glamorous."  I'm ashamed to say that I fell for the deal and even bought several of the photos. I only have two of them left and have NO idea where the rest of them are... how scary is THAT?  Now, while you are laughing at me, remember, this is the 1980's (and before I got braces)!!

These are photos from about three and a half years ago when Alexander came down to visit and we went to Disney World ~ you are all SHOCKED, I know. I love going there with the boys because we have so much fun and we all feel fine acting like kids and laughing at each other and ourselves. I can't wait until both boys can come down again, soon, but their work schedules, school and the Army (not to mention gas prices) have other ideas for them. Believe me, y'all will be the second to know when they are planning on coming for a visit! HaHa

Since I began doing this meme, my husband knew that I wanted to be able to share my older photos with everyone, so the absolutely adorable and loving man that he is recently bought me a portable photo scanner. This is one of the photos that I scanned with my present.

This photo is of Bill and I at our nephew's wedding in September 2009. As you can see, I have lost a lot of weight since then... I am really proud of myself for that!

So, here is one of the photos that I scanned over the weekend, this is from 1991 and I am only 26 years old. My girlfriends and I used to go out to lunch every November 11th. That way we saw each other at least once a year even though we had moved all across the state, this is at one of those lunches.

I decided that in honor of next week's Disney Social Media Moms Conference I would post some of my photos from past visits to Disney World with my boys:

I'm really looking forward to going back to Disney to see all the wonderful bloggers at the Social Media Moms Conference. I don't think my boys will be able to make it this time because the Army has other plans for my oldest son, Nikolaus, they scheduled some Mountain Warfare training for him during the same time which he is trying to reschedule, but I don't think he'll be able to do that.... and hate to say it, but the U.S. Army trumps Mommy... :)  Plus Nikolaus was little brother, Alexander's transportation down here, so.... it seems that I'll have to wait a little while longer before I get to see my little men again.

I thought about posting photos of my adorable Nano again this week, but I'll save those for later in the month on his birthday.  I decided to post one of my favorite photos of my baby boys from when they were little. Here is Nikolaus "reading" to Alexander as they are just about to take a nap. They have always been close and I'm so glad they are still good friends. I know that no matter what happens, they will be there for each other.

My friend Dolly has been playing every week for months and I have loved seeing all her old photos and so this week I have decided to start playing along. I posted some old photos of my boys earlier in the week because of their birthdays and that also got me thinking about posting flashback photos.

These are photos of my baby Nano from 2008 when he was just a baby. Isn't he so cute? Look how little he was - just about the size of the water bottle. That is how he got his name, when he was born, he fit into the palm of my hand and we didn't think he would get much bigger... so he got the name Nano Bytes Shewbridge... Now he is about 10 pounds, and sometimes we call him Mega Bytes.....
