Noah’s Light Foundation Nominated for Chase Community Giving Grant!

.

I received this from Noah's mom, Amber today, and was so excited, that I just had to share it with all of you.  Many of you know that Dennis and I lost our 8 year old son, Noah, to Pediatric Brain Cancer in May of this year. Through his battle and inspiration, Noah's Light Foundation was born and now we fight for the 12 children a day diagnosed with pediatric brain and other central nervous system tumors in the U.S. alone…Yes…12 a day!!!

The Good News -

Noah’s Light Foundation was nominated for the Chase Community Giving’s $250,000 grant! Starting today, the charity who gets the most “Votes & Likes” on the Chase Community Giving Facebook voting page wins the grant! The deadline for votes is (drumroll, please)…September 19th…Noah’s birthday!

Help us honor him and support the visionary researchers who have come together to focus on these children - It costs you NOTHING but will be PRICELESS for them!

Here is what you need to do to vote:

  1. Click the Noah's Light Foundation link: https://apps.facebook.com/chasecommunitygiving/charity/view/ein/27-1804403?ref=b7775da95b
  2. Log in to Facebook if you haven't already.
  3. Click to "Like" Chase (If you do this, we get extra votes :-)
  4. Click to "Vote" for Noah's Light Foundation
  5. You may have to allow the application first, but after doing so just return to our Noah's Light Foundation Chase Giving Page to vote for us!
(Note: if you search for us, please use the search term "Noahs Light")
That's it! If you are having any difficulty, please click here for "step by step" pictures on our website.

After you've voted, please pass the word on via FB, Twitter, email, and any other means you can tell people... This foundation could truly use the grant to help as many children with brain and spine cancer.

 Let's find a cure!

G-OIL® Toyota to Race for Noah’s Light at Daytona on July 6th, 2012

.

From Green Earth Technologies, Inc. press release:

The Green Earth Technologies, Inc. (G.E.T.) (OTC bulletin board: GETG.OB) #19 Noah’s Light / G-OIL Toyota Camry will be on a mission at Daytona’s Subway Jalapeno 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race July 6th. The TriStar Motorsports team and driver Tayler Malsam will be racing to promote awareness for the Noah’s Light Foundation and the “Fast Forward” campaign for pediatric brain cancer research.

Created in 2010 by Amber and Dennis Larkin, the Winter Garden, Florida based Noah’s Light Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, was created in honor of young Noah Larkin who lost his fight with pediatric brain cancer earlier this year. The Fast Forward campaign is designed to accelerate research and cures for pediatric cancer through an aggressive and collaborative program including a number of leading cancer research organizations.

Amber Larkin, Noah’s Light Foundation:
“The Noah’s Light mission is to find a cure for pediatric brain cancer by supporting visionary doctors in pediatric oncology, funding new research in the field and raising awareness. The speed, communication and teamwork of NASCAR represent the approach that the Noah’s Light Foundation is bringing to cancer research. We are on Fast Forward for today’s children.”

Jeffrey Loch, President and CMO of Green Earth Technologies, Inc.:
“We are honored to feature the Noah’s Light Foundation on the #19 G-OIL Toyota Camry to help raise awareness of the Foundation and the Fast Forward campaign. GET is concerned about the environment and consumed toxicity as well as carbon emissions and VOC’s being emitted into the air or dumped into the soil that reaches our groundwater. GET was founded on the premise of creating safer solutions that work.”

Dr. Dennis A. Steindler, Ph.D., The Evelyn F. and William L. McKnight Brain Institute, University of Florida:
“Pediatric brain cancer should not exist on our planet, and we need to rapidly and innovatively apply all of the fruits of our progressing research efforts toward better treating these and all of the childhood cancers. Just as with environmental issues, cancer can be considered to be an invasive species that requires out-of-the-box, adaptive and less toxic therapeutic approaches to strategically treat this overgrowth of our own body’s cells. Collaborative teams like NASCAR, Noah’s Light Foundation and Green Earth Technologies are just the ticket to fast forward transformational research discoveries to new treatments and cures for these kids.”

Heaven Has One More Angel

.

If you recall, a couple of days ago, I wrote a post about my friends the Larkins who's son Noah was battling a brain tumor and not doing very well at all.

I want to thank you all for your prayers, Noah was able to have a spectacular Star Wars weekend during which the Disney staff did it's utmost to make him feel like the Jedi that he was.

It is with a broken heart and tears in my eyes that I must tell you that little Noah has gone home to his heavenly Father on Monday around 4pm. I once again ask that you pray for his family, especially his little sister, Landin, who will miss Noah terribly - he was her best friend and mentor.

God bless you Noah for all the lives you have touched, including mine..

My Dear Friends The Larkins are in Need of Your Prayers

My dear friends the Larkins who's son Noah has been battling a terrible brain tumor for years need your prayers. Poor Noah has been declining in health rapidly over the last few weeks and his mom Amber has asked for just a couple of things. Mainly, to "pray for strength. Please pray for Landin - his little sister - (I will need a lot of help with baby girl. Noah is not only who she wants “to marry,” but is her best friend. She worships him.)" (italics added)

Also, she doesn't "want is one more dime spent on us – PLEASE, PLEASE donate it to Noah’s Light. Whether it be $20 that you would have spent on flowers or $1 for a card – DONATE IT!!!!!!! Help me battle this demon – our fight is not over!"

This family has given me more joy than anyone can ever know. Through all that they have been through, Noah has brought light, love, and happiness to more people than I think he and his family will ever know.

The one thing Amber wrote about her love of her son that brought tears to my eyes was: "This is what is important; this is what to remember. God gave us a REAL, visible Angel and through Christ, Noah has actually made miracles – we are so blessed!"

Please keep this dear family in mind as you spend time with your family this holiday weekend.

DONATE
