Sunday Stealing: The Trivia About Me Meme
Welcome back to Sunday Stealing: originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser:
"Here we will steal all types of memes from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent memes. You may have heard of the expression, “honor amongst thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we also have our rules. First, we always credit the blog that we stole it from and we will “fess up” to the blog owner where we stole the meme. We also provide a link to the victim's post. (It's our way of saying "Thanks!") We do sometimes edit the original meme, usually to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, sometimes to select that meme's best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from either this new meme or recently asked questions from a prior featured meme. Let's go!"
Today we ripped this meme off a blogger and blog named Astrid Paramita. She states that she stole it at BubbleBoo. But, it was probably stolen there as well. So, of course, that will be as far as we go. Tracing back our theft's thieves might take some time. Link back to us at Sunday Stealing!
Sunday Stealing: The Trivia About Me Meme
~ Opening…
Do you get regular massages? Oh how I wish!!
Do you have an answering machine? We do, but it is not hooked up because we have cancelled our home phone service. We only use our cell phones now and we do have voice mail on those. Does that count?
What cuss word do you use the most? Wasn't this on last weeks meme? I don't swear much, but I have been known to say "Shit" every so often. I'm sorry.
Are you underweight or overweight? Overweight... I used to be anorexic as a teenager because I have a terrible self-esteem problem. Now because of my spine issues, I don't exercise much - I really only walk a little bit each day, and I LOVE chocolate, so now I am fat. I have lost some weight, but since I had two surgeries over the last year, I've put some back on. It doesn't help when the last thing you mom says to you is, "My god Lorie, I can't believe how HUGE you are!" {Oh, and no, she is not dead, she just doesn't speak to me anymore.}
Can you see your veins? Whaaatttt??? Depends on where you look... you can see some in my hands and antecubital space (inside the elbow), but if you mean in my legs - like varicose veins, no I don't have a problem like that. (EEWWW - NOT mine.)
~ Favorite…
Soap? Don't have a favorite, but The Hubs likes Zest, so I use that one.
Fruit? Oranges... I mean I live in Florida, so we get them pretty fresh. With all the cold we've had lately, the poor citrus farmers lost a lot of their crops, so the price is going to go up pretty soon.
Kind of red meat? Rib-eye steak, bone-in, cooked medium rare (then I take the bone home for my baby Nano).
Fish? Grilled seared salmon with a lemon-butter sauce.
Candy bar? Dark chocolate anything...
~ Have You Ever…
Eaten a whole bag of potato chips? Oh, God yes!! I think anybody who says no to this question is a complete LIAR, liar pants on fire!
Eaten lobster? MMMMM yes, yummy, but so rich. I can never finish a whole one without getting sick.
Climbed a mountain? Actually, yes, we used to go all the time as a family when we were kids. My dad taught us all how to do it, we had to carry our own supplies in our backpacks, along with our sleeping bags, canteens and food. We would sleep on the top of the mountain under the stars (sometimes without a tent). We spent two weeks at Baxter State Park in Maine hiking, climbing {including climbing Mt. Katahdin}, camping, and doing all that kinds of stuff. I hate doing that stuff now as an adult! To me, roughing it is when you have to get OUT of bed to call room service!
Been skydiving? No way in hell - never have, never will... I want to live!!
Been water skiing? See answer above!
~ Do You…
Wish you could change something about your life? Sure do, but it really is not something I wish to talk about.
Like your nose? No... I've wanted to have a nose job for a long time, but I worked for an ENT surgeon and spent the day in the OR with him one day and observed a Rhinoplasty, it totally changed my mind (especially when that little hammer and chisel came out)!
Like salt and vinegar chips? No - I like plain, occasionally sour cream and onion or BBQ.
Eat salsa? Yes, but only mild or medium - I'm spicy enough!! :-)
Own a boat? No, but that is my dream... I really want to live on a yacht.
~ What Is…
A small thing that people let slide but that actually has dire consequences? I guess it really depends on the circumstances... Not stopping at a stop sign could have deadly consequences if someone was coming the other way, but if no one was around, there might not be any consequences; same with drinking and driving. But you really should NEVER do either. Even so called "little white lies", you may think that they don't hurt anyone, but you never know what the consequences are if your kids are listening, or if you may hurt someone in the long run. How do you know the state of mind the person of the person you told the lie to and how they take it, it could be the final straw to them, and they could "go postal" or they could kill themselves. You just don't know..... {Goodness, I just got so morbid there, I'm sorry everyone...}
Your most macho trait? I really don't have one, I really am pretty ladylike, but there is this one video of me, and you'll have to excuse me, spitting (YUK) off the top deck of a cruise ship docked in New Orleans into a dumpster. (I don't remember any of it!) I apparently was having a contest (we apparently were all a bit inebriated) with some guys who were trying to see if they could reach the dumpster on the dock - I won!! WooHoo!! Now, remember this was New Orleans, and it was the evening, and I started with my FIRST hurricane at 11:00AM... 'nuff said....
The longest relationship you’ve ever had? The one I am in now with my hubby. Bill and I will have been married for 13 years in March, and we were together for a year before that.
Your most embarrassing thoughts? Not gonna go there.... That's what Secretia's blog is for.
Your most shameful moment? See my macho moment... it is also my most shameful!!
~ This/That…
Bath/Shower? I love to take long soaking baths in my Jacuzzi tub and read. Don't always have the time to do that, so showers have to do most of the time.
Markers/Crayons? I actually love to color with crayons - my favorite is geometric shapes, so I will buy coloring books if I find them. I also love different colors of ultra-fine sharpie markers to write with - I am a pen fiend!!
Pens/Pencils? I adore pens if they are fine tipped and have a nice feel to them, so I collect nice pens. I also like pencils for certain things, but they have to have a pointy tip. If I am going to be using a pencil for something, I usually have 4 or 5 ready all sharpened up so that when one gets dull, I have another one ready to go. Then when they are all dull, I resharpen them all. Yeah, part of my OCD!
Jelly/Cream Cheese? Oh, yeah... put them both on a graham cracker and you have a poor mans cheese cake... uh, huh!!!
Bagel/Toast? Both, toast when I'm not feeling so good (great when I have a migraine) and bagel for a nice afternoon snack. Thomas' makes these really good Bagel thins - I made panini sandwiches last night on them - ooooh yummy!!
~ Finish…
My greatest weakness is… My lack of self-esteem and my Social Anxiety Disorder.
I wish I was… More confident and less afraid of everything.
Three things I wouldn’t do for a million dollars are… Look at my above two answers, you can probably guess that there are a lot MORE than three things that I wouldn't do for $1M... There isn't much that I WOULD do for a million dollars.
The oddest thing I’ve ever put in my mouth is… Dog food - my husband thinks it is strange that I taste my dogs food before I give it to him. I don't want to give him anything that is nasty! Why should he eat anything that I wouldn't eat? He's my little angel!
~ Firsts…
Credit card you had? Sears, and I needed a co-signer - go figure!!
Loan you got was for? A car with the first husband (aka "The Sperm Donor")
Paycheck was for how much? Eighty-something dollars - I was a bagger at a grocery store... worked my way up to Asst. Cash Dept. Head, and got awards for being an outstanding employee - even the highest award you could get. Not that I'm bragging or anything! :-)
Time you had stitches? After abdominal exploratory surgery when I was a teenager - I had horrible stomach pains and could hardly eat anything, they found out my gall bladder was adhered to my duodenum.
Time you went to the hospital for something? See above, also had anorexia.
~ Lasts…
List everything you ate in the last 24 hours? Teddy Graham chocolate cookies, Vienna Fingers cookies {OK, I like cookies, so sue me!}, Nutri Grain Bar, Chocolate Donut, Coffee, Orange juice, Roast beef & Colby-jack cheese panini sandwich, Special K chocolate cereal, Grapefruit.
Last thing you used a credit card for? I really don't remember, we haven't used credit cards for over a year and a half, we pay cash for everything now.
What was your job previous to the one you have now? I worked as a Certified Compounding Pharmacy Technician for a fabulous small 2 pharmacist owned Pharmacy call Apex Pharmacy in Hamden, CT. I really loved everybody there and I miss them so much. They were really a terrific group of people who treated me like family.
Last thing you celebrated? New Year's Eve...
Last time you were at a sports bar? I can't remember... had to be a really long time ago!
