Sunday Stealing - September 27, 2009

Sunday Stealing originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of memes from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent memes. You may have heard of the expression, “honor amongst thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we also have our rules. First, we always credit the blog that we stole it from and we will “fess up” to the blog owner where we stole the meme. We also provide a link to the victim's post. (It's our way of saying "Thanks!") We do sometimes edit the original meme, usually to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, sometimes to select that meme's best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from either this new meme or recently asked questions from a prior featured meme. Let's go!

Today we ripped this meme off a blogger called Bikramyogachick from the blog 60 Day Bikram Yoga Challenge. She explains that this meme was written by the Restaurant Refugee. Hannah posted it on her blog, which is where she discovered it. So we have another relatively "virgin" meme. So we have no need to even explain that we don't trace back origins of a meme! Link back to us at Sunday Stealing!

Sunday Stealing: A Fall Meme

It’s not really fall in until... Halloween, because it is so hot here in Florida. Until we get the Halloween decorations up, it just doesn't fell like fall.

What did you need to do in the waning days of summer for it to feel complete? Go to the Food and Wine Festival at EPCOT in Disney World and eat until there is WWIII in our tummies. Plus there is the Eat to the Beat concerts and we Rock ON!!!

A person I know was wrong for me but about whom I frequently thought after a break-up was... My ex-husband, but the only reason I thought of him was because he was still being an a**h**e because of our wonderful boys. Now that the boys are grown-up, I hardly think of him at all - Thanks for making me remember him -- YUK!!

If you could only attend one major sporting event what would it be? The Super Bowl (especially if the NY Giants were playing) but only if it was in a warm climate -- I HATE the cold and it is in February... Then I would have to say the Pro-Bowl, because that is in Hawaii.

Assuming that you write an anonymous or partially anonymous blog, by what non-physically identifying characteristics might you be identified in a bar? My fear of men... I was assaulted 8 years ago, and have not gotten over it completely yet, so I do NOT like to talk to men at all and I have social anxiety.

Most blogs cover some sort of niche – personal, political, dating, culinary, etc. What topic, if any, would you like to address on your blog but doesn’t fit into your niche? I wish I could be totally open about religion -- I have been hurt by religious people - NO, not what you immediately think of, get your head out of the gutter... All though I could understand that from my last answer.... I am distrustful of ALL religions. I am very spiritual and do believe in God, but don't trust people who push their religion on others. (Sorry if I have offended - none was intended.)

If you could manipulate the time space continuum and give as many as three pieces of advice to a younger version of yourself, what advice would you give and to what age of you? 1. Don't trust ANYONE, except yourself; 2. You ARE a strong woman and CAN do what you set your mind to; and 3. There are friends out there that you can talk to when you need help, but the choices you make are ultimately yours, and you are smart enough to make the right ones.

Who among your friends do you really wish had a blog because their stories, or perspective on something ought to be shared? 1. My SIL, Judie -- she is SO funny, and has been through so many things, both good and bad, and has learned from her and grown so much, and she has been SO wonderful to me, whenever I have needed her. She also has been more than a friend, she is like a sister to me, especially when my biological sisters cut me off because of religious reasons -- I love her to death, and don't know what I would do without her; and 2. Jill, my friend that just moved back to California {sniff, sniff} - she lost her husband unexpectedly about a year ago, and after some well deserved grieving, she picked herself up and moved on with her life and had amazing adventures, traveling to Australia, Paris, and several other places. I know that I could never do something like that, she just inspires awe in me and I think a blog by her would make other people in her situation sit up and see that you CAN go on when things seem at there bleakest.

If you were to take an e-cation (vacation from the trappings of our electronic world,) and assuming that employment obligations would allow it, how long of a break could you take? What would you miss the most, the least? I could probably last a 12 days (that's as long as I have ever gone), and I would SO miss my bloggy friends!! I just LOVE hearing about what they have done in their lives, and see the pictures of their families. I would NOT miss all the Cialis, and "member" growing ads that seem to flood my emails. :-)

On September 11th of this year, I attended a couple of parties and was somewhat conflicted by the fact that this ignoble anniversary shall pass with it being just another day in the eyes of many (and in some ways my own eyes as well.) Thoughts? I am one person (with NO reflection on others) who commemorates that day every year in a solemn way. I did a post of remembrance, with a call for everyone to fly their American flag, which I always do on that day and all patriotic holidays. I wear a special t-shirt as does my husband and even my dog. I feel that we should never forget the sacrifice those men and women made that day, and the sacrifice many men and women are continuing to make on behalf of our freedoms today.

How high are your walls? Who was the last person to scale them? What tools should would-be climbers have on their belt? I have VERY high walls since they have been penetrated by a couple of really horrible people in the past and left me with some very deep scars. The last person to get through and stay there is my husband Bill. He is a wonderful man and he is standing in the guard post making sure nobody gets past him. If you really want in the things in your belt that you need are HONESTY and LOYALTY - don't lie to me and I will always be there for you... just as you should be for me because I will never lie to you.

The sexiest thing a man or a woman can say to you (or has said to you) is: Thank you for being here for me.
Until next time..... Lorie

Thanks for being so candid. I know that takes a lot of guts and you my dear have them.

It sounds like your SIL should totally have a blog. There are some people who are just naturally witty and funny. My husband, sister and girlfriend Teresa are like that. They should all be writing. Funny thing, none of them read my blog. I guess it is because I have nothing to say.

I totally agree with you, thank you for being here for me is very sexy!
