The Shewbridges Christmas 2010

.

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas... we sure did. We spent Christmas eve at our favorite Irish Pub, Shannon's of Celebration having a glass of wine with some friends and drank a toast to our friends Butch and Phyllis in Connecticut like we have done every year since we moved down here to Florida. We used to live next door to Butch and Phyllis when we lived in CT and we would spend Christmas eve with them every year, I miss them a lot. Then we went home and I finished putting together my cookie plates and delivered them to my neighbors, we ate dinner and finished wrapping gifts, then we watched Christmas movies, including "It's a Wonderful Life."

Of course I had to have some help from Mai-Li and Maila with the cookies, the had to taste test each kind before I added them to the plates to make sure they were good enough for the neighbors.

There sure were a lot of different kinds of cookies and Maila ate a LOT of them .....

On Christmas morning we got up early, well, early for us (HaHa) to take the doggies for their walk and then went home and turned on Christmas music and the Florida kind of fire.....

..... then we had our coffee, cookies and some delicious banana bread from our wonderful neighbor, Patty, and Bill, the doggies and I sat around the tree opening up our gifts.

The babies had such a good time being in the den, they are usually not allowed in that room and they were SO good.

Mumbo found a good spot to check out things in the neighborhood, Mia decided to sing along with the Christmas caroles, and Nano found the perfect place to sit so he wouldn't miss a thing!

Bill got a NY Giants watch, which after Sunday's game he's almost too embarrassed to wear. TeeHee! Plus all the doggies got him a Bissell SpotBot Pet carpet stain cleaner... wonder what THAT could be for???

Here are some wonderful things they all got for me. You may notice a theme:

I got some beautiful Disney ornaments and two Dept. 56 Snowbabies Disney Figurines that are absolutely beautiful. They look so perfect in my cabinet with my other collectibles.

We then had a wonderful day together, we took Nano, Mia and Mandie down to Shannon's for a small Christmas party with some friends.  Everyone LOVED their Christmas outfits and they had their photos taken several times by people we didn't even know.  I made one of  Bill's favorite meals: boneless ribeye steak, mashed potatoes and green beans, even the doggies got some of the ribeye.

Then we just relaxed for the rest of the night watching TV thankful for the wonderful things that we have and grateful for our family - who we had heard from throughout the day. I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and got to be with the ones you love.... I know I was!

Looks like you, Bill and the kids had a great Christmas. I suppose the only thing that would have made it better would be the boys at home. I hope you at least got a call!!!
