Ruby Tuesday: A Sea of Florals

It's time for Ruby Tuesday, again...

These are so gorgeous flowers outside a palace in Istanbul, Turkey. The artifacts inside the palace were unbelievable... I wish I could have taken photos of those, but it was forbidden. There were huge gemstones and gold and silver encrusted crowns and weapons and every kind of household item you could imagine. My favorite was an 80 (YES eighty) carat emerald, that was to DIE FOR!!! But for now, these lovely natural creations will have to do. These actually smelled SO much better... :-)

Make sure you head over to Mary's blog The Work of the Poet to take a look at the other participants' photos and to add your post to the link.

Until next time..... Lorie

How beautiful! I wish I had a green thumb. Something like that would look great in my back yard!

Those flowers are absolutely gorgeous! SO nice and bright. Nice to look at with all the browns and blahs we have here. Our leaves got shocked and fell off this year. They didn't really change and get all pretty like they usually do for Fall.

Magnificient colors, definitely alot of ruby. It is so wonderful that you can travel. I hope to do it someday myself when the kids are grown.
(I however, would have probably tried to sneak a pic of all the crowns and jewels and gotten myself arrested in the process.)

Lauri,
I thought about it, but then had the realization that I REALLY did NOT want to be in prison in Turkey!! :-)
They warned us on the cruise ship to stay in the approved areas and to listen to the authorities... so we did.

Such cute little buds.

80 carats? Seriously...you would need a wagon and an armed guard to carry that thing around.
